Indeed. Wait for the 390x to go on sale, or grab a 390 instead. (when 290's are no longer available, that is). $429 is too high.

That's horrible, I can buy a Tri-X R9 290 today for $240. 8GB is useless on an R9 290 with the 980 Ti already out there.
