Very helpful video. Loved it. Helped me figure out what CPU to get for my next build and how much RAM to get. Thanks!

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't really like the presentation of the graphs here. Looks better than just throwing a black and white graph in our faces, but the colored top and bottom bars weren't really making the experience better. Better labeling and adding (short) captions to the figures could make them easier to digest.

I never expected Linus to be sponsored by the worst anime site ever.

why do so many good cases only come in black and white

@2:21 "We use 2 gtx titans" --> Shows 2 titans and a Quadro 4000 in the picture :L

Other than that, cool video! Not that I am a content creator, but it's always interesting to see what high end stuff can do  :P

I don't think this kind of video is relevant to the vast majority of people, but I don't think that's a valid reason in itself to not make them. There are some people who are interested in them, and it adds value to the channel as a whole to have them.

Could have saved some time by skipping to the point of "If your system is bogging down and your system resources reports high ram usage, it's time to upgrade". ;)

That's the only indicator how much ram anyone needs. It's why I jumped from 8GB to 16GB and while others have the capacity they do. Forum recommendations and a video are nice, but it's the user who should know if they have enough or not.

I found this incredibly helpful especially when talking about AE. I was debating wither or not another 8gb is worth it but yes it is.

I have 16Gib, and it's enough. 8GiB would have been too little.

Granted though I run Chip design/synthesis/simulation tools, various VMs at once for OS programming and the occasional video/image rendering

I'm not a hardcore content creator, so some of the material in the video didn't really apply to me. None the less, I really like what you guys did with the new graphs and transition effects. It looked nice.

Gaming PCs:
Intel i7 4790k, EVGA GTX 980ti, NZXT H440
Intel i5 7600k, Asus GTX 970 DC Mini, Silverstone SG13B

Though I'm not a content creator personally, I still found the information in the video helpful. The format for presenting that information was also easy to follow. Considering the price of all that RAM, would you consider it worth the cost to create the RAM Disk or hold out for faster NVMe SSDs at the cost of PCIe lanes?

Either way, I think Edzel put together an awesome report!

Already a Crunchyroll premium member, but it's interesting to see a sponsor spot from them. Hope it works out for you guys.

8GB should be standard, 16 if you multitask a shit-ton or render.

LINUS

It's pronounced

NAR-OOO-TOE

or
SHIT

I mean at least look it up before pronouncing it. It's pronounced how it looks like it would be in english.

You'll piss of the Otakus. And there's a lot of them here.

I'm warning you.

 Luckily Naruto is a series that is popular to hate for some.

OT

A friend of mine uses crunchyroll. Surprisingly not bad. Most official subs actually are terrible, but crunchyroll has certainly gotten better.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
