My opinion on this as a heavy religious person(hindu in this case) is that religion is the problem. Praying to someone may be fine however is that god, if they exist in a form that we can recognise then what happens, what are they gonna say, they are gonna be pissed.

Is more likely to be "radicalised", these people believe in their cause, they think they are in the right and they believe they are doing so with the full backing of their diety. I see the religious aspect as a susceptibility which under certain conditions can lead to radicalisation / brainwashing. I don't see it as a reflection of any particular faith.
