Leftover swap , it's the newly released app that lets you take photograph of your, well ,your leftovers or your partially empty plate & let the app know that you have leftovers that you want to share,

 

 

App seems obsolete in the first place, But it does touch on a sensitive topic , & that is food wasting , creaters of the app claim that the application help fight food wastage,

 

 

report by the Natural Resources Defense Counciil, 40% of the food produced in the U.S. is lost in the journey from farm to fork to landfill. In europe, a number of Web services and platforms, the most famous of which being FoodSharing.de (more than 43,000 subscribers only in Germany), are trying to tackle the food waste issue.

 

Not actual solid tech news imo, but interesting where technology can help in these areas that seems to be benificial to the population as in such a scale. Only drawback is that it's only available for ios but you can soon expect this app to hit the android market as well as it gets much more exposure.

 

But on a different note, here's what the experts had to say

after all it's a stranger that you're getting leftovers from.. *bonus roofies for everyone*

 

 

One good point of this being is that you're not allowed to sell your leftovers , you give them out for free, pretty much it's like badoo for fat people..*sorry fat  people* but , it is useful for someone that needs/deserves its benifits.

I'm not generalising here. Some people will do it and some people won't do it. Even if it's only 0.000001% of people that would do it, that's still a chance. It's not pessimism, it's the truth.

I've seen plenty of similar situations and have known plenty of people who would most likely do something like that. 

Obviously you don't have to accept the food of the person who advertises it though. If they look dodgy like a bunch of 12 year old chavs then you're probably not going to bother.
