My poor Mac Mini is chugging away in its cupboard.  The Core 2 Duo P7550 is earning base score and that's it haha.  There's no Mac OS CUDA support in F@H currently, so the GPU is sitting idle.  I was contemplating booting into Debian when this WU finishes and seeing if the GeForce 9400M is even viable for folding.

The oldest Nvidia cards supported are the 400 series so not likely

Does anyone know if I need to set my RX480 to compute in the Adrenaline drivers to get WU's completed faster, or does it even matter?

question if you have a 2060 GPU and folding with it on windows how much ram does it need when folding?  building a computer out of "scrap" parts for a 2060 im getting. i have 4 GB of ddr3 not sure if thats enough or not...

it raises my 580 and 5700xt by a hair seems to run slightly cooler but i could be crazy...

Good question. I don't use AMD cards in my personal rig but the wife and her old pc have RXx80s

I have seen cores pull 1.8gb of memory... so if youre using linux you might be fine?

Hey gang. Anyone have a big list of PPD for different cards? Hopefully from the last gen or two of hardware from both AMD and Nvidia? But any of that info would help me out, even if it's a little incomplete.

for my 1080tis most workloads seem to require less than 800mb... just try it out i think it should work

It will be fine. Some of the newer Core22 Work Units (WUs) use about 1.5GB RAM max so one GPU and CPU 4GB should suffice.

 

I used to use just a single 4GB stick for my dual-GPU Linux folding rigs and until the newer WUs came out they were fine.

i can find 4 or so more gb lol i like windows too much...have an old xps 8500 from another friend i want to make it pay for the years of frustration it gave me...may be a bad idea but lol...

Nope, just the stats servers catching up. I went up about 2MPP yesterday afternoon when the RX5700XTs arrived and I installed them under Windoze to get a baseline but that will go down again at @19:00 EST when the current WUs are done so I can start trying to get them working under Linux.

 

Are you running your 5700XT under Linux? BTW - Liked the review you did on it.

You're right.  A bunch of the documentation on the main F@H website is pretty out of date-  It was suggesting the GeForce 8/9 series as a minimum.  I checked GPUs.txt from https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=26208 and found the technical details in order to understand if an entry was blacklisted or whitelisted from http://web.archive.org/web/20131022203423/https://fah.stanford.edu/projects/FAHClient/wiki/FormatOfGPUsTxt and it's blacklisted.  As you said, it looks like whitelisting starts at the 400 series.
