Ah, someone mention about google cloud free credit - so I begin my quest.... it aint much, but hey, its FREE..

to use GPU (Tesla T4) we need to "unlock" unlimited access (let google charge you CC if you forget to delete your instance in time 🤣)

700-800k ppd for the risk...

It's also worth saying that although the cloud stuff is fun in its own right, nothing beats listening to the fans and water pump all ramped up as you sweat it out in your computer room watching the power meter spin!  Having suffered through this virus, I have a personal interest in this project.  For me, it was like breathing through a small straw for days on end.  The mental part was horrible.

I made it past 10 million points! Also still in the top 400, yesterday I fell hard because of no WUs. I had my Surface Book 2 folding on just the GPU (GTX 1050) today (it's the 13" so the CPU is passively cooled) but even that gets the CPU to hit thermal throttling the odd time so I will likely keep it off for now. The fans are super high pitched on it as well so it's very annoying. I have had my old MSI GS40 (i7-6700HQ/GTX 970M) folding for a few days now, a nice extra 200k PPD roughly and it keeps in the 80's which is fine for a laptop I think.

Look up affinity software, 

 

If you feeling really cheap, you can get the older Serif software for super cheap and it isn't too bad.

Google Cloud denied my request for gpus. 😔 Probably because already have an account with them. I'm using AWS currently

Still going strong but need more WUs for those idling GPUs

It's so nice that northern states still have this relatively cold weather and I can just open my windows to cool down the room.. Thanks weather. Please hold it like that at least to mid April. 🙂
