Question: People are mentioning getting another WU assigned before the current ones are finished. How can you see when that happens? Just curious.

The client, by default, will start downloading the next WU when it reaches 99% complete.

This can be adjusted by setting:

next-unit-percentage to a number between 90 and 100 in extra client options in the "Expert" tab or on a per-slot basis under the "Slots" tab in the Advanced Control.

Hint: just leave it at the default its not usually worth screwing around with and config changes often require stopping and restarting the client to be loaded.

Yes. You can have 10-20 2080ti's, but you just can't "win" from 10k people with a 1060 each.

so got back the R7-350x finished its job i installed the GT730 it supprisingly got a job instantly was a small GPU Job points wise but it Died 5 minutes in :( the Memory apparently on that crappy card is just as crappy lol you put a load on it and it craps its pants :( so im back to the 350x but have a 2000 RPM noctua blowing on it lol...

@Gorgon i am assuming when a WU gets returned it sends notes with it as to why it thinks it was being returned or does it just send it back to be worked by another Computer?  Just asking since you seem to know a bit of the back end.

Quick question - I've been folding for the past week or so and haven't had any issues but now I've got a WU (proj # 13821)  that has an ETA of over 7 days on my 8600k.  The expected credits are at their base value of 900.  I don't care about the credits per se but it seems like either something is not working properly or this is an extremely intensive WU compared to the usual 1-4 hour durations I've seen in the past.  Any ideas as to why this might be the case?  My GPU is still chugging along at normal pace and I've tried pausing and re-folding many times already.

-Thanks!

Are you sure about that Project # 13821? I cannot find any info of it from  Project summary  nor Pande Group Announcements

honestly this is great and saving me massive amounts of power.  The miners under full mining load pull way more than they do folding.

im running:

2 -10 card 1070 mining rigs

1 - 6 card 1070 mining rig

1 - dual xeon 24 cores dual 2080ti machine

1 - dual xeon 24 cores dual titan V machine

1 - single 1070 machine

1 - dual 1070ti machine

i had to pull deep into the old PC parts closet to bring another 2 machines up to make sure i dont lose 13'th place to ykdave.....

honestly though the mining rigs really suck and my score would be much much higher if they could be fully utilized.  There just isnt enough PCI lanes on the boards to support 10 1070's under full load (even on 1x risers) and PCI bifurcation or splitting isnt supported on those boards as they are strictly mining boards.  also managing and keeping that many cards occupied is time consuming as WU are hard enough to get right now.

those 3 mining rigs under full mining load pull way more power than everything i have spooled up right now.

I am not complaining. I was trying to fetch some info about this Project. And actually the project manager Justin Porter said that there is a problem: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=33492#p319502 so I guess it´s OK to dump the WU.

This problem wasn´t on my machine... I should´ve quoted the original poster...

My bad - I looked at 13871 not 13821. 13821 appears to have been promoted to Advanced or Normal.

I haven't seen that project since November so it likely went to Advanced around then. I completed 15 of them without error

The reason for failure does get sent back but I'm not certain how much detail is provided. The logs generally show what was collected to be sent back.

Just co-opted the eldest kid's gaming rig. Another GTX 1060 6GB joins the fold!

It will likely be expensive as they are negotiating an upgrade. It seems the old i5 is starting to struggle even at 1080p 60Hz these days.

-Thanks!

As @LU0P10 noted there appears to be issues with that WU. As it will not complete likely until after the dead-line you probably should dump it. From a Command Prompt in Windows

FAHClient --dump <work-queue_id>

where work-queue_id is the ID of the Work Unit in Advanced Control (00, 01 etc)
