so I would love to help and I have read the whole post you made. this seems like a fun thing to do but I am very new to this folding thing. so I downloaded the folding at home application and I have a passkey. can someone please tell me what is my next step? thanks guys! and gals!

Does anywhere have statistics of how much compute power there is at any one time?

 

How does FAH compare to other supercomputers?

 

It would be awesome if we go down in the history books for breaking most powerful distributed computing records for this.

Make a username, put in the team number for LTT 223518, and then your passkey in the Web Control page. Give it time since there are too many systems and not enough WU are being produced to keep up.

Work Unit, basically the Work Order for your PC to start folding

There might be something wrong with your settings, I've been getting GPU WUs nonstop

Because you have slow GPU and once you get something to work on it takes you whole day?

No, each WU is taking around 2 hours to complete

Joined the forum so I could help with this, going to run my 2700x ryzen+570rx and my 3200g systems when I get home from work. Will be my first time folding.

Quick question regarding Secondary systems on the Project. If I register a second machine using a new passkey will that throw off the results or is this ok?

I started folding on my HTPC, it states that my work unit eta is 0.00 secs and no points. Is this normal after 10 minutes of folding?

Ran this with the firewall both on and off and it came through succesfully both times.

I'm running into the same issue with my second computer, according the the topic below you might have to restart the remote computer in order for it to take into effect however it is something I'm currently not willing to do as the computer is pushing out WUs, so if yours is down doing nothing it might be worth a restart to try to fix it.

Is it definitely running? Can you post a screenshot of the desktop client?

It's just running stock setting cranked to Full.

Worked fine last night, woke up this morning to the GPU not doing anything and the CPU cranking away

I'm pretty sure some people mentioned how the amount of people accessing WUs means there's not enough for everyone, so there will be downtime.

On my GPU WU, the percentage keeps jumping back, any idea why? It was just at 9%, then went back to 6%, and it's done it before.

They're overloaded with new folders. Give it a few days and it will be back to normal.
