Do you have GPT or MBR ?
Open up the Diskpart utility as shown in solution 1. Once you have loaded the diskpart utility, type in ‘list volume’. Check if your volumes are intact

Cards "that cheap" will probably come with pressed aluminum heatsink with copper core, just like the old Intel box cooler then if that's your definition

Does it have ruin warranty sticker?
Nah GDDR6 doesnt have that level of heat output, it should be somewhere around GDDR5 level (as noted, "reduced power consumption than GDDR5X" and GDDR5X isnt an oven by any means).

I suspect AMD and intel will be coming out with new sockets in 2020 or 2021 so it's a bad time to buy anything with the future in mind.

It's hard to know what the availablility of Ryzen CPU's are going to be in the future, especially after they stop making compatible CPU's.  I can image the final compatible series of CPU's will keep their value and prices for new CPU's on that platform will stay high if intel's previous final generations for each platform are anything to go by.

If you can wait I would.  If you can't it's still worth waiting until you can afford at least a feature rich B450, 3600, and a decent video card.  To me it's a waste to buy a CPU that's only good enough for now rather than one that will be outdated in the next year or so.

Do you already own these parts? If so, then save your money for future.

As for overclocking, watch some guides on how-to. OCing is whole another thing than just building a PC, so those aren't discussed on same videos. You should try to search motherboard specific guides, not CPU specific. You will learn more about what different features do that way.

So over the weekend I went to free geek to pick up some older hardware to build a system from the 2005-2006 era, and while I was there I decided to pick this up as well. That is the Asus L1N64-SLI, which was a dual socket consumer motherboard that AMD released in order to try to rush to quad core. The actual Quad fx platform didn't do to well because of the power required and it's problems with memory latency, but needless to say they're pretty dang rare. I was extremely lucky to be able to pick up a board with two CPUs from the fx-7x lineup (don't know which ones yet) for only 30 dollars.

Revert back until you need a 3000 series BIOS. Maybe by then we'll have everything smoothed out..

You can plug those little wires (from picture 1) into the motherboard directly (check out the section in your manual talking about F_PANEL, which is the bottom right of the motherboard) or you can plug them into the thingy in pictures 2 and 3.
You basically plug them in how the manual tells you.

Take note of the + and - (plus and minus) logos though, as on some these are necessary.

    1. 4 pins in width? That is likely a fan cable, which goes into your motherboard at one of the SYS_FAN headers. These can only go in one way because they are keyed. I would guess this is for the fan controller I see in the background of pic. 1. Check with your case manual first though.
    2. 3. these go into the block connector or your motherboard (keep in mind the plus and minus):

    4. into motherboard or that connector (I believe these don't have plus and minus though...):

    5. keep in mind the plus and minus again, but these again plug into the block or motherboard:

These little cables can be a hassle to plug into the motherboard, which is why that connector block exists.

    2 things:
    1. 75 degrees C is not overheating, my i5 gets up to 80 under load.
    2. It's an old CPU (not to mention that it's an FX), so high load and heat should be expected.

Well i never used Windows Defender, the first think i do is Disable it, its useless , and if you have any issues run in Safe Mode, and scan it with Kaspersky TDSSKiller and  then with Malwarebytes and HitmaPro, and AV/Firewall depends what you want.

It would only be useful for entry positions such as tech support. I would suggest taking the practice exams found here: http://www.examcompass.com/comptia-a-plus-practice-test-1-exam-220-901

Anker_by reacted to Coaxialgamer in i7 4930k overclocking + BCLK question
The base clock provides a reference clock for many parts of the board ( individual parts have a (usually locked) multiplier ) , so when you increase your bclock frequency , not only are you overclocking your CPU , but you are also overclocking your ram , you DMI bus , your pcie bus , your chipset , sata bus etc .

Having many parts go out of spec ( usually considering they don't have much headroom ) can sometimes cause instability .
in the old days , only RAM and a few other parts ran off the bclock ( or FSB) , but now a lot more are dependent on it.

also , the strap isn't the bclock.

Thats a really silly comment that makes no sense, so disregard this. The 1060 is a overall better performer then the 480 so if he would need to upgrade, he would also run into that issue with a 480.

Anyway, EVGA with ACX 3.0 , MSI Gaming and Asus Strix are imo the better coolers this gen. It's no day and night difference in temps, potential for GPU boost and noisellvl's. But EVGA and ASUS perform slightly higher then MSI, while MSI and EVGA are a bit cooler and make less noise then the Strix. The EVGA is imo the one that I would pick.
