BOOT DRIVE LOCKED

Just installed  a new cpu and motherboard (ryzen 7 3800x and x570 asus tuf gaming.  Previously r5 1600c and a b350 prime) now my windows wont boot and i cannot figure it out! Please help

Thats an issue i dont have a USB drive to use, or a CD for it. Also dont have a cd drive lol.

Check UEFI safe boot status in BIOS. do you remember what was the earlier status in the previous motherboard. Was it UEFI only or UEFI and Legacy. Try different combinations

Yeah that wont work because i have to enable CSM and that causes only my m.2 to be recognized , i had this problem years ago and domt remember how i got past it

If you are doing UEFI only why do you need to enable CSM. Keep CSM disabled. What OS do you have ? Also check your secure boot settings?

I cant change the uefi settings without having CSM enabled , windows 10 latest update and for some reason it said other os wow im dumb lol

And nothing,  it says my drive is locked whenever i try startup repair

Are you able to reach a command prompt

Yes i tried chdsk aswell

You can try these steps.The the command prompt each of the following commands. you should see a successfuly completed message after each of them

 

bootrec /FixMbr and press Enter 
bootrec /fixboot and press Enter.
bootrec /ScanOs and press Enter.
bootrec /RebuildBcd and press Enter

Alright im currently heading into my job , ill update when i get home , thank you for the help

So fixboot says element not found 

Scanos finds 0 windows installations

And rebuildbcd is 0 aswell

Managed to get windows 8 to boot somehow and now installing windows 10 thanks everyone its been a long day

Do you have GPT or MBR ?

1. Open up the Diskpart utility as shown in solution 1.
2. Once you have loaded the diskpart utility, type in ‘list volume’.

Check if your volumes are intact
