Server startup promblems

Hi 

I bought a Dell Poweredge 300T LGA 771 motherboard and a Xeon L5430. And i can't get the system to post at all. I have checked the PSU in another system, and the Ram. The motherboard is not evn giving me an error code, no bib nothing. I was thinking maybe the motherboard is dead. I haven't tested the CPU because i don't have another motherboard to test it in. Pls help

check your motherboard supports that ram, not all boards support all ecc ram

It is just a normal stik of ddr2 ram, i haven't got the ECC certified memory yet, i hope thats the problem, but shoulden I atleast get a bib or an error code?

most server boards only support ecc ram
