LennyD reacted to WoodenMarker in Cooler master ml240l v2 pump not working
As mentioned, it's probably a dead pump.

LennyD got a reaction from Tom80765412 in CPU fan speed settings?
The fan but now that i think of it, it would not be that much of a problem. Just like Origami Cactus said, the sound would be the major problem. Try and change the RPM in the BIOS menu, it's the most dependable fix, beats any software.

LennyD reacted to Origami Cactus in CPU fan speed settings?
Don't do it!!! Never use a crappy gigabyte app to do anything that you can do it in bios itself. Deinstall the bloatware, and man up and go to bios and change the settings there. The included windows apps are pretty crappy, and can cause all sorts of problems. If you want a solution that keeps on working, just set the settings in BIOS please. The gigabyte software bricked my whole windows install one time, had to reinstall from scratch.

When i want to modify the CPU fan speed i use the BIOS control, go into that and see if you can find anything related to that, the BIOS menu differs from motherboard to motherboard so i can't really tell you where to find it.
The disadvantages could be the fan being louder and probably more power draw.

I would go https://www.cel.ro/placi-de-baza/placa-de-baza-msi-b450-tomahawk-max-ii-socket-am4-pMiE0NDMpMw-l/
the 5600x tray version on the same site is 1019RON
Then get yourself a cheap 120mm tower cooler, eg: https://www.cel.ro/coolere-componente/cooler-procesor-deepcool-gammaxx-300-pMCI3MDQt-l/
B550 doesnt really gain you anything when your on a tight budget IMO, just ends up costing more.

I have the previous version in B450, has 4/5 fan headers, 6? sata ports, up to either 64 or 128gb memory. That one should come in just above the budget, the b450 is less expensive but harder to find in Romania in stock, so if you can find the b450 it should some in right at your hard budget.

LennyD reacted to NinJake in Actually dissapointed in Asus
It's not abnormal for a single dead pixel. You were unlucky by getting 2 bad panels in a row but that's still not out of the ordinary. Don't let this shy you away from a particular brand if it has the appropriate specs you're after. I'd only give bad marks to a "brand" is if their customer service is non-existent or very poor. You can't control what's going on behind the scenes but if they aren't willing to help you out as a paying customer your money can go elsewhere. A good business knows this and hopefully will always try their best to help you out.
As a side note, back in November 2016 I ordered 20 SSD's. Out of that batch of 20, 3 were dead upon arrival. Talk about bad luck. Yet I sent them back and got 3 perfectly working SSD's back. Those 20 PC's with SSD's are used 6 days a week and are still running strong. (5+ years later!)
It's easy to get upset when you spend money on something and it doesn't work right. Just take a breather and go through the proper channels to get the issue resolved and you should be fine.

LennyD reacted to GuiltySpark_ in Asus ZenBook 13 creaking sounds?
100% what you expect with a plastic shell. Nothing really out of place here. Those devices just aren't built like a Macbook Pro. Not many Windows based laptops are.
-
LennyD reacted to Levent in Asus ZenBook 13 creaking sounds?
No that is the typical plastic creaking noise, cheaper the laptop worse quality materials it will have. This usually is not accepted as a return reason unless you are within the return period.

LennyD reacted to SacredBovine in Questions about iCUE SP120 RGB PRO Performance 120mm Triple Fan Kit
Each fan will have two plugs. One standard PWM and one RGB that plugs into the included RGB hub. You will need to control fan speed from the motherboard regardless so a 3 way splitter will do the trick. The iCue software will control only the RGB effect, not the RPM. You will connect the included Lighting node core to a usb 2.0 header on the motherboard in order for it to communicate with windows and transitively, the iCue software. Make sure you have an available usb header for this.

LennyD reacted to WoodenMarker in Cooling for a Corsair 270r
In that case, the Deepcool RF120 3-pack seems to be the way to go since it comes with a hardware controller.
-
LennyD reacted to WoodenMarker in Cooling for a Corsair 270r
So ZM-SF3's? They seem like alright fans and should already be enough for cooling when used at the front for intake.
You can add just about any fans at the rear or top for exhaust and they should be fine.
What motherboard are you using?

LennyD reacted to Chronified in I need a new case
Gamers Nexus does the temperature comparisons if you ever want to look those up. They're within margins of error to eachother, CPU is a bit better in the Meshify C though.

LennyD reacted to Chronified in I need a new case
Forgot to mention for coolers, a Coolermaster Lite would make a great budget choice for putting that CPU under water.
120mm for rear mounting $59 USD

240mm for front/top mounting $69 USD (Pick me, pick me!)
https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-masterliquid-ml240l-rgb-liquid-cooling-system/p/2YM-0004-00015?Description=masterliquid lite &cm_re=masterliquid_lite-_-2YM-0004-00015-_-Product
Both have the RGB that you will crave once you have a non-lit Meshify C, hence the recommendation for the 240mm. Front mounting it until you get more RGB fans will make for some great lighting.

LennyD reacted to Chronified in I need a new case
I'd recommend the Meshify C (Black or White, Mini or Standard) to anyone looking for those prerequisites lol
Absolute best bang for your buck you can get and it's exactly at your pricepoint
https://www.newegg.com/fractal-design-meshify-c-white-tg-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811352087
Only downside to it is no DVD drive bay, but you can get a USB DVD burner from eBay for <$10 to keep your build clean.

**edit
Damn I didn't realize how many of our favorite youtubers did a Meshify C video. Almost like everyone but Linus did one when it released a couple years ago lol

LennyD got a reaction from Crabstick69 in Which GPUshould I get?
I was looking for the same thing and i opted for the Asus GTX 1060 6gb and it delivers. I have no problem with Witcher 3 or GTA V the cooling on it is really good. I got mine a couple of months before the 1660 series so maybe look into the difference between those.
EDIT: 1070 is nice too the price difference between 1060 and 1070 was colossal here so i couldnt get it but i heard good things of it.

LennyD got a reaction from ilAcHuli in Help needed My GPU stopped working
I would most likely get a new one. I had an asus strix 1060 and when i moved to a new house the electrician fucked up the plugs and at some point my gpu fans would start but no signal whatsoever so i took it to repairs since the guarantee was still available and they just gave me my money back.
I think its time for an upgrade

LennyD reacted to Corsair Nick in Anyone knows anything about this case?
Most of our cases in this price point have (2) USB 3.0, same thing with (6) fans for cooling.
We do have another option similar to the 275R with front RGB, the SPEC-06 RGB, at a similar price point.
I've built in both 275R and 400C, both are solid cases in their own respect, and picking one will come down to personal preference on feature set. Tempered glass vs Acrylic Door, Solid PSU cover vs Modular, SSD Drive Sleds vs Clip in Slots (275R vs 400C respectively).

LennyD reacted to LienusLateTips in Anyone knows anything about this case?
Cooling isn't a problem without side fans. You just need good airflow at the front, whether that be from a large enough side gap or a full mesh front.

LennyD reacted to SenKa in Anyone knows anything about this case?
Zalman doesn't have the best track record for cases, build quality and thermals both seem to suffer in my experience. I'm not sure how much wiggle room is in your "about 100" budget but the Define R6 is very nice. https://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define-series/define-r6-usb-c
