Honestly, with a comment like that maybe we should say you shouldn't be participating.  Did you even bother trying to understand what he was saying?

It's quite clear he is talking about the fact that BMW was selling the vehicle, and also sells the software...ie the hardware and the software.  What you are implying is the same as me saying chip manufacturers can't be hardware sellers because they don't make the silicon chips and they outsource the lithography process to others...the fact is if they design the chip and get it manufactured and sell it they are the hardware.  So what he said is very much relevant (doesn't matter that I disagree with him in regards to this topic) but ultimately his participation is applying more logic to this topic than trying to claim they don't manufacture the parts as an argument for him not to participate.

Then you get the people who complain about the price going up and that they are forcing a feature onto you.

The fact is they did a cost analysis, and if they can keep the price the same for the base cost but make back the less margins by being able to sell more heated seats then I don't see the issue.  If they started installing them, and bumped the base cost to compensate for the cost, while keeping behind a paywall that would be a different story.  Ultimately it costs addtional money to keep a second SKU/feature set.

Yesterday, on the wan show, Linus talked about BMW introducing a subscription for heated seats.

I think they didn’t fully explain the topic and it’s a little bit misleading.

First, if you purchased the car eith the heated seats, you own them there is no subscription. They will work for the lifetime of the vehicle. Source. Also a quote: “"If a vehicle is initially ordered with heated seats, that option will remain fully operational for the life of the vehicle," BMW said.”

Second, if you didn’t purchase the option, the seats will still be in the car but not activated. You can “buy” them outright at the price of $415, or you can pay the subscription. Source. Also a quote “A monthly subscription to heat your BMW’s front seats costs roughly $18, with options to subscribe for a year ($180), three years ($300), or pay for “unlimited” access for $415.”

I think this is a great thing, because if I decide to get the heated seats I don’t have to go to the dealer and may more (man labor) and waste time if there’s a problem.

Story time. My parents have a Skoda. They bought the car without android auto/carplay. After a year they decided  to get this functionality. So they booked a service appointment. I went with them. It took 4 hours for them to “install” it. Android auto/carplay is a function called Smart link. As far as i know it is just a software license. They told me that it’s also hardware but I don’t really believe them. After the 4 hrs they told us they couldn’t do it and they also DAMAGED the e-call function (calling the emergency number after an accident). So they gave us a loan car for a week and after a week they told us they repaired the e-call function, but they couldn’t install the Smart link function. My best guess, they were too incompetent to order the right thing so that’s why it didn’t work because in a special service menu the car tell you the functionality is compatible with the car.

Also if you bought the car from someone else who didn’t need the heated seats because he lives in a hot city, you can just buy it on your phone in 5 min.

Also because bmw can make the manufacturing easier by including the heated seats, you don’t pay more for the car and you also have the ability to retrofit but this is a speculation.

Will there be people who don’t do the math and use the subscription despite it being cheaper to buy it outright? Yes, but I see that as their problem not bmw’s. Bmw is in the business of making money not helping you make good financial decisions.

Also if someone is using the heated seats for 1-2m/year and they change the char often, it would be cheaper for them to use the subscription.

TLDR: You can still buy the heated seats forever, you don’t need to pay a subscription. Stop crying.

It comes down to what do you want to do with your device. Are you a professional who does lots and lots of excel spreadsheet? Buy the fold. Do you want the best phone for videos, or one of the best for photos? Buy the iPhone. Do you browse reddit and youtube? Buy either one of those.
As @rickeosaid, the OS matters a lot.

I have the 13 Pro Max and I love it. I use my phone a lot and I mean a LOT, if i want I can kill it in one day before 7 pm, but it only happened one 🙂. The battery life is very good. I also use the camera quite a bit and the cameras are very good. I haven’t used the Fold, but from what I saw on yt, it’s also a great phone.

I am pretty sure that I will buy the 256gb model and get a 1tb nvme external drive. I will store my projects on that drive because at 200 euros (yey eu and taxes) for the 512 model it doesn’t make sense for me.

If you have an iPhone and other Apple devices, the AirPods are way, way more convienient with the automatic device switching, pairing process, find my and so on.

You say you liked the EarPods and the ones that came with your S7. Those are both out of canal earbuds and probably why you liked both. The Galaxy Buds are in canal with a seal... which may be exactly what you're NOT looking for. The AirPods on the other hand fit exactly like the EarPods do, which you liked.

Sound quality wise the AirPods are fine, not insane. There's a bunch of bass if that's your thing and they lack a little in the high end definition.

I don't know how profitable are the 1070s. Considering you have to spend $50 on a pus or maybe more and let's say $5 for an adapter, idk. You might be able to get more for the gpus on eBay if you sell them. I am pretty sure you can get $500 for both. Maybe get an Xbox?

Edit: you can get way more for them. On eBay I can see just one for 400

From what I could find, AMD simply calls it "switchable graphics". On Linux this seems to be referred to as hybrid graphics. I've stayed away from it so far, since the technology as a whole seems somewhat flaky (at least on Linux).

I'm not really sure which technology you need to use, since you have both AMD and Nvidia. This might be a possible starting point: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/nvidia-xconfig-doesnt-do-what-i-want-it-to-nor-does-nvidia-settings/107883/7

As to number of cores, an odd number shouldn't really matter. I've so far always used 3/1 for host/VM. Since you have more cores, 6/2 might be a nice option to give the VM a bit more power, maybe even 4/4 if the host doesn't do anything else. You should be able to reconfigure this as needed when restarting the VM.

It is safe to assume that most company refresh their high-end lineup within 2 months of a significant component is released.

Unfortunately, I do not have a convincing evidence that HP will refresh their Spectre lineup within 2 months of Intel Comet Lake S release.

I apologize for the inability to provide sufficient information, and convincing evidence.

I dont own an 11 Pro but I do have a Xs Max and I've used multiple android flagships this year before that. The iPhone will be in a league of its own when it comes to fluidity and performance. Battery life on my Xs Max has been great and the 11 pro embarrasses it with its exceptional battery life. The triple camera set up is meant to be on par if not better than the pixel and the software support is in a league of its own, you'll get 4-5 years of updates compared to androids meager two. This last point may not be all that relevant if you keep your phone a long time but resell value is very strong on iPhones dropping around 10-15 percent a year (at least here in Ireland) compared to android which sucks, I lost 35% on my galaxy s10 after 4 months.
