I would suggest nonetheless, to download and install DDU and do a clean driver install.

That bar is just showing you the status of the directory on the drive.  Every time you change a file name, move a file, or copy it from one place to another, it has to update the directory and that is what it is doing.  As long as you continue to update the files, then the directory has to update too.

    Good Luck.

Thanks for your concern, I have decided to wait a bit longer in order to buy one of my friend's much more modern Ryzen 3 systems, thus securing upgradeability for at least several more years.
    Thanks for everyone's help!

Ever heard of supply and demand? That is how pricing works on products.

keeping supply tight whilst demand is high will increase prices (because people are willing to pay for it).

has nothing to do with immorality or anything else. It is how the economy works.

do I agree with these prices? No. Would I buy it? No.

Coming from a motherboard manufacturing background I can tell you that there is very little profit margin on high end products. We made most of our money from mass production of low tier boards that we would then sell to SI's. The next biggest sellers were mid tier products sold to home builders, then a small amount would buy the top tier which would only make 2-3% profit on. Once you start factoring in paying people like to carry BIOS, RMA support and renting a building to house us in you soon start eating in to your profits.

People see a hugh price tag and just assume that equals a big profit, it just doesn't work that way.

The 3080ti is a 3090 basically and it consumes more power than 2 1080tis. Couple that with the spiking behavior of the 3000 series and a rm750 (especially pre 2018) is not going to handle that.

I know this because there are a lot of people with even current rm750s that have issues with the 3080 due to them having a bit more powerhungry cpu.

Im very very certain this is just the regular 3080ti has a useage spike, spikes to 600w real quick, rm750 thinks a short happens and it shuts off.

Stormseeker9 got a reaction from DoctorNick in Why do the these Fractal Design cases have less impressive temps for GPU?
Sorry but 3-6 degrees? Who cares. As long as they are in normal operating temp windows and your CPU is not throttling, you’re good to go 🙂 (I would think so at least )

regarding hdd temps - I only have an SSD + m2 so can’t help you there. Not ran into any heating issues with my current setup (see sig) and when I upgrade will likely go fractal again for case

Honestly, I don't have a clue mate! But yes, those X or whatever name cards are usually higher clocked and presumably more performance. But, could not give you a definite answer.

Stormseeker9 reacted to RONOTHAN## in MSI VS ASUS
    No.

    Just. No.

They both do overclocking records. MSI was the first one to break a 10MT/s validation on memory, currently in 2nd place for that, they're in 2nd place for a 12900KS frequency validation, and they're in the top 10 for all other scores on 12th gen Intel.

Besides, the boards being talked about are not ones that are used for records. If MSI wants to go for some overclocking records, they'll use either the Godlike or the Unify X, they won't use the Ace, and if Asus wants to go for a record they'll use the Apex, not the Extreme.

Again, no. ASUS if anything has had a string of pretty rough quality assurance as of recent with the Z690 Hero catching fire because they soldered a capacitor on backwards (something that should have never happened with all the safe guards that should be in place) and the Z690 Apex having wild variations from one board to the next (some boards struggle to do 6400MT/s, while others can do well over 7000MT/s with ease). That was somewhat true back in DDR3 and earlier, but hasn't really been true since at least Coffee Lake. They're on par with everyone else.

Stormseeker9 reacted to Felixader in How can I tell Windows10 to use the full set of my 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers?
    All right, I fixed it.

A case of being stubborn was at fault here.

    1. My dedicated Soundcard is simply out of date. Nothing much else to say to this one.

    2. In what I would call human error on my part I must have done the Set Up on the integrated Sound Device in a sloppy way.
Now, adjusting the bitrate and doing the set up again the sound is as I wish it to be.

Turns out I was sloppy in my installation and tests. Sorry and thanks for the use of your time.

often in AIO's the pump is on the CPU block - and so often the rad will be above or vertically to it. Some cases allow rads in the bottom.
I run my AIO with the rad at the top and runs smooth as ice.
