Your board isn't compatible with 12V Only PSUs.

You need 5V and 3.3V as well.

Normally you would need to upgrade to linux-firmware-git, however the missing firmware file has not been pushed to upstream. A search tells me that Intel's Own Clear Linux Distribution is using "iwlwifi-cc-a0-59.ucode" instead. I am not sure what Kernel Clear Linux is on or if they have backported this change, however you may need to upgrade to a more Recent Kernel. Current Stable is 5.10

Yeah, on Arch my linux-firmware package has iwlwifi-cc-a0-59.ucode (among other iwlwifi firmware binaries).

MX Linux might just have too old of firmware, you'll want to clone the linux-firmware git repo and copy the files to their respective places in /usr/lib/firmware.

I actually work for one of the above named companies. The issue is that open reach look after all the infrastructure other than virgin. So no matter who you go with, it's the same speed as its the exact same lines. Just the bill is a different name.

The only alternative to that is FTTP broadband that only really BT and Zen provide, but that's still pretty rare in the UK. Its more rural areas or brand new builds that are getting it.

If you want to DM me the full address, I'll check my work systems and see what is available for you so I can give you a definitive answer?

If you want hardware raid on a budget, the LSI 9260-8i is about the best value. Make sure you get a battery as well to enable the cache as well as provide some protection against inflight data and raid configuration.

"Breakout cables" are for SAS > SATA or SATA > SAS.

Pa1yn reacted to Jarsky in What's causing this disk io bottleneck on my Nas
Well thats probably your issue right there.
Either upgrade the system to something from this decade, or get a proper gigabit nic that will utilise the pcie bandwidth instead of hammering your USB controller which is hosted on the south bridge on those old platforms. You want a system with integrated controllers, so basically Intel Sandy, or AMD Fusion generation CPU's, basically 2011 or later.

No need to bridge, just give both the nas a pc a ip in the same subnet.

Just change the ip in control panel under network adapter properties.

Scrape off the copper-layer? What are you talking about? The copper-layer is an inherent part of the damn CPU, you can't go scraping it off.

I'm not an expert at delidding, never bothered with it myself, but the core looks fine to me. The bare copper on the side is kinda worrisome, though. It most likely is just the ground-plane and I doubt there's any traces running so far, close to the edge on the top-layer, so it is probably still fine. Might not be a good idea to have the IHS touching that part directly, though, so maybe cover it with a layer of clear nail-polish or something similar.
