The Switch is succeeding because it's accessible, flexible and... y'know, fun.  You can play it the way you like to play, whether it's handheld or on your TV; you don't have to spend a lot even for the 'full' Switch; and crucially, it has a killer game lineup.  Consoles shouldn't be just about spec sheets, and it's unfortunate that you don't understand that.

It's just what many people have wanted, and it's probably going to sell like hotcakes.

To make it cheaper, they had to remove some of the modularity/feature set, so this makes sense. People who care about these should get the "original" version, and people who only want to play Mario party with their friend on the go can pick this up.

Yes, but it will still be a performance upgrade. That said, you really should consider getting 16GB of RAM, a halfway decent power supply, and an RTX 2070

My first ever PC build I had a Gigabyte motherboard. Being so nervous, I stabbed it with my screwdriver. Must've just gotten lucky, but it still works to this day. You honestly just got a bad batch. Happens with everything. Want a good example of bad batches? Cheese. My father used to work in a deli. Sometimes the cheese they sold was really hard to separate when cut into slices, people complained it was the deli workers not cutting them right. As it turns out, it sticks together because the cheese is just dryer than normal. So at that deli, it's considered a bad batch of cheese when it's too dry. One batch could be too dry making it hard to separate, next one could be just right (tip, if your cheese won't separate with your fingers, use a butter knife and pry inbetween slices). If manufacturing was perfect, we'd never have defects. Yes, even a defective product can pas QC because it shows that it works just fine, when in reality it had a short life span for whatever manufacturing reason. But this is why we have many manufactures, so we have options.

AOC is pretty reputable company in terms of displays.....
 
Also, it sound like it is a B panel from smaller brands that use panels that dont pass for Samsung and uses them instead as the panels are usually fine with some minor defects. 
Now this is just rude. I get thay you are upset, but even so.

You should get 2x4GB for your ram and not 1x8.

I would get a new PSU.

Unless you want the best overclocking performance, I would get a B450 mobo and save a few bucks.  I would also go with the normal r5 2600, not the x version since everything I've heard says that the 2600 overclocks about the same as the 2600x.  If you don't plan to overclock then r5 2600x is fine since it will be faster out of the box.  I also recommend RAM with at a speed of at least 3000 MHz.  Memory speed affects Ryzen a lot and faster memory will improve your experience with Ryzen.  Other than that, everything else looks good.

I forgot to mention, you may want to wait before pulling the trigger on this.  AMD may be announcing the next generation of Ryzen at CES and if the rumors are true, there will be massive performance gains (although I am a bit skeptical).

Yeah, if that build is current (R5 1600, gtx 750ti), you won't have the power to drive 1440p 144hz.

Do you have the PC horsepower to drive this? Judging by the build on your profile, it seems excessive.
