Warning DO NOT buy Spectre monitors!

Turtle Rig

So I did a lot of research and saw people complain about this monitor but some say its great.  I got it as a gift for my cousin,, delivered to him so I don't know how it looks but,, he says its washed out,, and not crisp and clean like my monitor. "The monitor being a Spectre 32" Curved LED 75hz monitor."  He sent a screenshot but that won't do LOLOL.... anyhow.  He ended up calling them and they said after troubleshooting that this is how the monitor is and the monitor is fine.

I tried to save a little and went with a company I haven't heard of and got screwed over.  This is the last time I make this mistake.  From now on ONLY Samsung ,,,, pc monitor or tv ,,,,,,,,  This AOC I got is probably a piece of shit as well with its fuked up plastic broken off bezel,,, should have RMAed.  From now on,,, MS, Intel, nVidia and Samsung,,,,,, period,, even if its a gift which this was.

It's a sample size of one, but I've never used them so I won't speak for their quality.

AOC on the other hand, hit or miss i guess they never miss

It was okay until the panel started losing most of its brightness and randomly shut off, however I do have to say after sending it back twice I got exactly the same screen but new and it's been leaps and bounds better; from color to brightness.

TL;DR:

While some brands might have lesser products, even big names like Samsung have some bad screens that slip through QA.

Personally I'll stick to ASUS next time as the amount I saved buying AOC instead of an equivalent screen from ASUS got tanked by the shipping costs.

AOC is pretty reputable company in terms of displays.....

Also, it sound like it is a B panel from smaller brands that use panels that dont pass for Samsung and uses them instead as the panels are usually fine with some minor defects.

Its okay. Im fine with most cursing, though i strongly dislike it when people use the names of certain groups of people, either it being religion, etc.

Both my brother and I have multiple Sceptre monitors and have had no issues.  Once again, a sample size of one.  Everyone else I have talked to about them has been positive.

Hmmmm I wonder if its a lemon.  sighs

Its probably B panels from Samsung. That is how they can get these panels cheaper.

B panels are mostly be fine, but you will relativly often run into defects.

Spectre monitors are hit and miss - just as the reviews stated.  They are cheap...because they are sourced with cheap components.  You always get what you pay for.  Nothing wrong with Spectre monitors.  Just your expectations.

IPS is very nice compared to TN. (Im using an LG 29 inch 75hz ultrawide)

Experiences with monitors can be quite frustrating when receiving ones er th defects.

Sweet, I wanna go IPS Alto I have no idea what all these technology really mean.  IPS gives a better picture compared to a standard LED LCD ,, how about QLED is that any good ?

In pc monitors there a 3 main types. Youve got TN which id generally worse color but better response times etc, its best for high refresh gaming and is also the cheapedt.

Then its VA which is what Samsung uses for their monitors which in general offer better color than TN while still having pretty good responce timing.

Last we have IPS which offer in general the best colors at the cost of worse responce times.

Personally i rank VA and IPS together as they both offer stunning quality in comparison to TN though IPS is apperantly a little better

Im not monitor expert, but this is my take on it at least
