    Wingdings, obviously.

(I would like something akin to Apple's San Francisco: fresh and modern without trying too hard.)

Surely, to port softwares to ARM, they just need to recompile right? I mean it isn't like they are developing for entirely different OS. If SDKs and APIs are all the same, they should just need to recompile the software with their respective ARM compiler/assembler from source which can be done in seconds, well, for the humans to run the compiler that is. Not sure how long it would take for the compiler to compile.

Joshosaurus reacted to Jarsky in What HDD for the Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Pro 1U Rack Mount Appliance
Id be aiming for at least a 3TB. Skyhawk Surveillance, WD Purple, WD Gold, HGST UltraStar DC HC520, Seagate Constellation ES would all be suitable drives.
If you only have a few cameras (especially if theyre only G3's), it really doesnt matter...you could just get a 2.5" 4TB Seagate Barracuda which would run cooler and less power as well.  If theyre G4 Pro's then you might need the larger disks due to the substantially higher data rate.

Neither. WD Purple based off my research, most reviews, forum threads, and articles I read said the WD Purple drives are more reliable for surveillance cam setups.

Joshosaurus reacted to LAwLz in Google is gonna lock phones if you don't pay your bill in Kenya
There are some VERY important parts that are just being glossed over here.

    1) It is only in Kenya.
    2) This only works if you have bought a phone from the Kenyan carrier Safaricom using their financing plan.

Honestly, if you buy a phone on a payment plan and then don't pay for it, I think losing access to the phone seems like a reasonable response. If I stop paying for let's say Netflix then I don't get to keep using them. I lose access until I start paying again.
I don't see why phones would be any different. I think the problem only comes when this start being used for other purposes, but so far we have no evidence or indication that it will.

How about the Mikrotik CRS326-24G-2S+RM, https://mikrotik.com/product/CRS326-24G-2SplusRM ($200 MSRP, 24 gugabit ports, 2 SFP+) and to convert the SFP+ to copper ports, use two of the S+RJ10 https://mikrotik.com/product/SplusRJ10r2 ($65 MSRP)

If you just want a dumb switch, then you can use this as-is with no changes needing to be made. However this is capable of pretty much every normal “managed switch” feature (note that while you can set up routing on this, this is NOT a “layer 3” switch, so anything other than plain switching has to use the CPU which is very slow).

Mikrotik has a learning curve if you want to do anything other than have a dumb switch, but the value can’t be beaten.

Joshosaurus reacted to dalekphalm in Thousands of Disney+ accounts found in black market
What does Disney's preparedness have anything to do with this news story?

This is caused by people re-using the same email and password as some other account/service, and their password was already leaked.

In other words, the "hackers" knew what the login info was. Disney+ did nothing wrong here.

Also while Disney+ does lack a few features, and has some odd bugs, I wouldn't call it anything close to a shitstorm. Is it feature equivalent of Netflix? Of course not - it only launched last week!

Joshosaurus reacted to GoodBytes in North Korea company 'Myohyang IT', releases a new tablet called: iPad
The revolutionary and visionary North Korean company: Myohyang IT, has released exclusively to the region, a new type of computational device that brings a Star Trek innovation idea into reality. More specifically, the Personal Access Data Devices, or PADDs as it is called in the TV show series and books, which is a laptop type of device that is super thin, and light with a touch screen top to bottom, without a keyboard. You type using a on screen keyboard. It allows you to have a PC like experience on this slim and handy form factor.

More specifically it features a touch optimized GUI, with the ability to watch videos on how great the country is, read The Great Leader favorite and highly recommended books, view beautiful picture depicting the wonderful vistas of the country, and the worlds best web browser ever created which is the only one that allows you to view all 25 websites that exists (This web site does not exists).

No information on the OS name exactly, but it is believed to be powered by the groundbreaking, unique, Earth shattering, and simply the best: Red Star OS

The company calls this type of new computational form factor device: Tablet Computers, and the product name in question is called: iPad.

The iPad features mighty performance under the hood to give you the best experience possible. It uses nothing else then the best science-fiction level hardware:
A 1GHz CPU - Super computer speeds right there. 512MB RAM - More RAM than you can dream 8GB eMMC internal storage - Just enough to backup the internet, all of The Great Leader books, and documentary videos on how the great the The Great Leader is. 16GB "external Memory" included to future proof the device for the rest of your life with any potential additional content and websites. 8inch screen All day battery life of 6h. Great to use when the lights turns off when they cannot sustain the greatest of North Korea's Great Leader. The system is feather light at 250g.

This device gets the certification of the The Great Leader, and was in fact designed by him in his dream last night!!!

I ran into the same thing with a Rx 480.  It's not because your 1070 doesn't support HDCP, it's because it's too new to be on the approved hardware list.  In order for Ceton to get a license and approval from Cablelabs they had to ensure that their tuner would only work with approved hardware to prevent piracy.  I ended up just swapping the 480 with my son's R9 280 and it works but there may be a update or other workaround.
