True showcase of the geniuses at apple.

One day, I went to my local apple store with a PowerMac G4. I wanted to test just how dumb somebody could be, and elected that this was the best way.

This PowerMac G4 had no HDD, but was fully functional. I walked into the store trying to get help as to why I couldn't install macOS.

Spent an hour and a half there laughing internally as "geniuses" try and:

Plug a Firewire 800 drive into a FW 400 only machine

Be baffled by the lack of installable medium

Be bewildered by literally everything infront of them.

Literally be unable to test it full stop for about 45 minutes as they dig a VGA monitor out of mothballs.

This was in 2016, still funny as hell.

Just give us your budget and your country so that we can come up with a build for you. We all have our own budgets and use scenarios. Everything on this forum varies from casual $300 office PC to $5,000+ workstations.

I got a good one here boys. Its short, but should be funny.

My neighbor isn't the smartest, but she's a fellow Missourian and probably one of my closer family friends. She stops in my work (UPS Store, she was shipping a package) and we chat while I enter info. Nothing all too interesting, but I asked if her husband had came across any abandoned PC's or the like at his work (Storage facility). She says no, but that she has a couple laptops for me. One of them was an "Apple laptop" that doesn't turn on. She says if I can fix it I can have it, so I go aight, worse case scenario I can sell it as spares.

This is a 2014 Macbook Air, which has the power button next to volume up on the keyboard.

I take it apart, clean the dust bunnies out (needed, it was filthy), and press the power button for 2 seconds (as you need to do on these. If you just tap it it wont turn on.)

It turns on no problem. Dead silent, just as it should be.

I was expecting water damage, as this woman quite literally has a liquor stores worth of booze in her house (I am her dog sitter as well. I do take a sip sometimes). This laptop is also often left outside on her patio or under the awning by her pool.

But nope, got a free Macbook Air and 2 other laptops to clean up and sell off. Feelsgoodman

You didn't even need to explain. When referencing a legal case it is common practice to reference the judge who delivers the majority and minority rules rather than every judge on each side. If I were writing a paper on Engel vs Vitale would I then have to mention specifically that Honorable Judges Black, Warren, Douglas, Clark, Harlan, and Brennan held the opinion that reciting a government written prayer in a public school was an unconstitutional violation of the 1st amendments guarantees to freedom of religious practice? No. Thats stupid. I would explain that Honorable Judge Black's majority stated that blah blah blah.

I personally think the quotes around honorable do little to add to the conversation other than to stir up the salt you have already felt the brunt of, but people are just being triggered because you're a Californian and they are assuming you're some easily triggered millennial Starbucks liberal hippie to poke fun at like everybody does outside of the liberal west when they see a Californian ?‍♂️.

I would argue companies have the right to make it difficult to do so. But Apple and Lenovo who knowingly and out-right block it? No.

I personally believe Apple is 100% in the wrong on this case, and I hope they get slapped with the harshest punishment they can receive. This will set the precedent for these cases for all of time going forward, and I hope it's a good one.

It's not that hard to return a case through Amazon to be honest.

But if I were you, I'd return that case and buy something better like a Fractal Design Focus G (a budget-friendly case).

nVidia does keep the very best of the best for themselves, but locks them down to reference PCB's and a strict power limit.

And thats pretty fair. I think HoF cards are ugly, but if you like white builds then theyre pretty much your only good choice.

Well being as the processor alone is 10 years old. And the GPU itself can be bought used for about 80 bucks on ebay. I wouldn't spend anymore then 250-ish bucks. (That's me tho)

SenKa reacted to Spotty in How good it is to use a pc without nvidia drivers?
If you are receiving BSODs when using your graphics card with drivers installed, and you have tried using DDU to remove the drivers and reinstall new/different version drivers and still have the same issue, it's probably a hardware fault. 750Ti is what, 5 years old? Could just be dying. If there are any overclocks on the card then try removing them, might help with stability.

If you're not going to install the Nvidia drivers for your graphics card, you may as well just remove the graphics card and use the i5 6600 integrated graphics instead.
Hmm. What's better, a graphics card without drivers or integrated graphics? ?

if it freezes while doing a stress test, it means the OC is not stable. Either up the voltage more (not recommended) or dial back your clocks.
