I guess that's one way to have good cable management :lol: I'm surprised I haven't seen this before.

A lot of low quality no-name psus come rated by peak power, so they might not actually be able to supply anything close to the wattage they're rated for for a sustained period of time. Still it should be enough for a 650 even after 1 year of aging on the capacitors, unless they are complete crap, so it could be something else (possibly a thermal or stability problem with the new GPU).
 
You can check temps of the whole system using utilities such as CPUID's HWMonitor (http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.25-setup.exe - just install and run, it'll show you a list of temps, stretch the window until they're all visible, run something stressful in the background and take a screenshot or just write the important ones down/take a photo if it's unresponsive and post them here).
 
As for the PSU, the only way you can really test it out it to try out a different quality PSU which is proven to work correctly, I'd recommend getting a good PSU anyway but if money is a problem right now and you don't have access to a good PSU you might want to consider taking it to some sort of computer repair shop you trust.

Because that means a lot of people would break them or not have them cooled adequately, in fact if done well the IHS should help spread the heat allowing for better cooling. Finally it would also make them incompatible with most coolers.

Awww, no Hayabusa engines and no VTEC! that's disappointing . I was almost imagining the pilot calling over the PA saying "Please fasten your seatbelts, VTEC just kicked in"

Overrated? probably not, expectations are too high though.

If you have any half decent laptop with an SSD you can legit destroy any Alienware, no matter how expensive, as long as they have an HDD...

and the iPad was the first tablet...
 

Something similar happened to me with my cousin, I was discussing with my father about building a rig for my younger brother, I told her I could build a very decent rig for about €900 at which point she (quite rudely) jumped into the conversation saying you need at least €1400 for a decent PC and mentioned her "very fast" PC which had an amazing 16GB RAM (just like your case other specs were complete crap) considering this was a gaming/browsing PC that would be completely pointless and I wasn't able to suppress expressing that and how ripped off she got.
