Lennart van de Merwe got a reaction from Technomancer__ in ryzen 1600 overclock to 4ghz
it depends on the rest of your system, if your CPU is the bottleneck, then yes upgrade to a better cooler and overclock it to 4Ghz. If the GPU is the bottleneck, then you don't have to.

The GPU isn't the problem, it's the CPU you need to upgrade to atleast a pentium G4560 dude.

Lennart van de Merwe reacted to Princess Luna in Which 1080ti Should i get
Palit is a subsidiary of PNY which is nVidia's biggest partner in Quadro cards maufacturing, in fact the almighty Quadro P6000 only comes either nVidia or PNY branded for the matter, so yes it should not suffer from manufacturing quality at all, if saving that $ makes any difference to OP that is a valid pick.

Lennart van de Merwe reacted to minibois in G.skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 3200 compatible with GA-AB350-GAMING 3 MoBo?
It will surely boot up, but if you will get 3200Mhz is really more up to the motherboard's support.
The timings aren't the greatest (at 16-18-18-38), so you might get 3200Mhz, but I wouldn't be surprised if it only goes up to 2933Mhz.

Lennart van de Merwe got a reaction from Walt in How safe is sealed liquid cooling?
Air cooling is cheaper while giving just as good performance, but is harder to install and with water cooling you always have the risk of leaks (although an AIO-cooler shouldn't be dangerous for leaks)

Lennart van de Merwe got a reaction from Ordinarily_Greater in where is the Sleeper PC series Linus?
@LinusTech, I've had an idea for a sleeper build. You take an early 2009 iMac, remove all the hardware inside. Build a crazy watercooled gaming rig with RGB and use WIn10. From the outside: An old iMac, but from the inside a gaming monster! Dunno if this is a stupid idea and wanted to do it on my own, but I don't have the money.

Lennart van de Merwe reacted to LinusTech in Just some feedback for Linus
Now that would be some content that would be a lot of fun to make
Edit: But in response to the OPs question no I don’t really have any plans to expand it to higher price brackets. I think a big part of what’s cool about it is that the stuff is cheap/affordable

Its not possiable to fit in 1080 Ti and your tasks are very CPU bound so GPU isn't that important only if you are not gaming on 4K

Rode VideoMicro, I have it myself and is perfect for inside AND outside.

Lennart van de Merwe reacted to Sam. in Mic for indoor recording
From my experience, a VideoMic Go is a solid choice. It also comes with the option to add a Deadcat (good for outdoor audio) if you do outdoor stuff. It goes on the hotshoe of a DSLR and plugs into the mic in jack.

You could easily get away with 4 gb of ram, but not with having no SSD. I wouldn't go AMD either but rather A: secondhand i3 6100 (should be about 50) or B: New intel pentium G4560 or G4600 or if you really need the budget: G4400. The SSD could just be 32 gb because it's most important for booting to windows. Btw: FX-6300 doesn't have iGPU
-
Lennart van de Merwe reacted to seon123 in Help improve this build
FX CPUs don't have integrated graphics. Why do you want a quad core for streaming Netflix and basic web browsing? Just get a G4400/G4560/G4600 and use the iGPU. It will also allow you to stream Netflix at 4K. Get a better PSU, like the Pure Power 10. If it's just a basic PC, just get a 120-250GB SSD instead of a HDD

Lennart van de Merwe reacted to ProjectBox153 in Help improve this build
I'd look into getting a used Sandy Bridge machine. I've gotten a few for free, and they still do wonderful. I wouldn't buy an FX processor new.

Whoops meant to get a 750w one, but the case is only $80 and in a $2k build, I think it's plenty justified
