I'm looking forward to building a new PC.The budget is 1450 USD(Excluding monitor, cabinet, keyboard and mouse) and the PC will be used for Gaming and 3d modelling and simulation(Autodesk simulation,CFD,Hypermesh and MSC Nastran).

The only problem is,i'm being torn between choosing:

1.X99 or X299 motherboard.

2.Intel Haswell architecture processor or a kaby lake - X processor.

3.3200 Mhz ram or 3000 Mhz ram.

Other than the above mentioned dilemmas,i'm good.Oh I'm getting a gtx 1080ti too.

Any particular reason you're not going Ryzen for this? I'd think it would perform better for things like this.

Go Kaby lake and 3000 mhz ram, ram speed won't matter much, and kaby lake  will be better than Haswell.

Its not possiable to fit in 1080 Ti and your tasks are very CPU bound so GPU isn't that important only if you are not gaming on 4K

this is indeed better and you can't logically put an 1080ti in the budget.

I'm planning on buying a 4K monitor later.Maybe after 6 months or so.

And also i'm into ethical hacking stuff .So i guess i need a powerful GPU for hashing.
Could i also know why a GTX 1080ti can't be fitted in the rig specs?

Thank you.The thing is that i'm ready to compromise on the parts like RAM, PSU,HDD,SSD.I can upgrade it later. But the CPU,Motherboard must be solid such that its future proof at least for 2 years minimum.
And also why did you stay away from intel ?

Cause performance which you get for this amount of money is not that good on Intel's side

And also i can't get a GPU right away.I'll just have to ask a relative to courier the GPU to me from Ireland because the a single GTX 1080ti costs around 450 USD more in the country i live in.I'm damned right ?
