It should be called the Mac Industrial. Their Pro lineup was originally for small businesses or independent content creators exe. home recording studios, wedding photographers/videographers, graphic designers. People that would pay more because this is how they made their money. This product is for companies like Pixar and Lucasfilm. That's fine but I wish they had a $1.5k 5k monitor and a $2.5k - $3k desktop. I guess they are just assuming that those people will just get iMac and they may be right. Still would like them to make cheaper display. Pretty much an iMac screen by itself that can plug into a MacBook Pro via Thunderbolt 3.

Def get the quad core. So much more performance. I just bought one this weekend and I love it so far.

Last night I went to Microsoft's website and forced the new Spring 2019  update. I really like the new light mode (however, I'll probably still use dark mode) and I LOVE that Cortana is separate from the search bar now. There are a couple other small changes, but the main thing I noticed was PERFORMANCE. I haven't seen WINDOWS 10 run this smoothly before. I am usually cautious about updating right when it available (especially with windows) and I wait to see if anyone has noticed any problems but my system has been so buggy after the paste couple of updates I thought "what's the harm now". If I just went to settings and clicked "Update Now" nothing would happen because they are rolling in out slowly so I still could be a while before everyone gets it but you can download it from their site if you want. I think they are rolling it out slowly so they can hear if there are any bugs and patch them before everyone gets it. I think this update is over a month late too. The update a couple months ago KILLED my gaming performance. I was getting 50 FPS in GTAV  on an RTX 2080 in 1440p. Now I'm between 90 - 120 FPS after this update. Outside of gaming performance, the whole UX is snappy. Just click the start button and you'll notice a difference. I wish this is how Microsoft always treated updates. I feel like this is the first version of Windows 10 that's acceptable for public use. Lets hope they keep it up!

Does your system have an SSD? I would add that ASAP if it does not. Otherwise I would recommend getting a 1070ti for your card.

I wouldn't recommend using a GTX card for CAD design, as the drivers tend to freeze up and severely affect your performance.
See linus's video on this, it's got lots of really useful info.
It also looks like a quadro 2000 5gb would be a better option for you, as quadros are MUCH more optimized for this kind of workload. On the other hand, if you're going to be doing both gaming and CAD design, a vega 56 would be the perfect option for you. Hope this helped!

That's only really true if you have a Samsung phone (and preferably a newer one at that).  If you don't, avoid the Galaxy Buds at all costs.  They're laggy and limited on other phones.

No clue, I've never used a 1660 or a 1660ti. But from what I've heard, the TI can almost match a 1070. But yeah, I think the 1050ti may be cutting it too short, i'd say get a 1060 6gb used or try out the 1660.

Would your friend mind waiting about a month? New Ryzen cpus are releasing 7/7 and it was shown at computex that Ryzen 3900x beat the i9-9900k in performance and for cheaper.

Good call. They will have some new boards to go with them. However, some older chip sets will work if they are labeled so. Some features might be missing though.

What resolution? Below 1440p a 1080 would probably bottleneck a 3470 in gaming. Better option is probably GTX 1660/1660Ti at most. Also 2x4GB RAM should suffice in most games.

No, once they get a load they will roughly equal each other in terms of performance because of thermals.

Also all MBPs with TouchBars are quad-cores or better. All MacBook Pros without a Touchbar are dual cores only.

If you can find one for a decent price. You can gat a 2070 for around $500 and a 1080ti for $800 - $900. Might as well get an RTX 2080 for that price.
