    Oof.
I guess that's the "no" then.
    Good to know!
So if I wanted to actually do this, I'd need a load-balancing router, right.
Just for science. I saw Ubiquiti has a £79 one that does it.
It's cheap cuz no WiFi (which makes sense).

What kind of pump RPM are you running? I found that leaving the pump on a controlled header caused thermal issues like that, so I always run my pumps at 100% speed. My Old Corsair H60 (1st gen) did ~ 4000 RPM or so, by HWiNFO. My H110 looks like it's ~ 1500 RPM.

Possibly these i units removed the motherboard control. I had a H100iv2 for a very short amount of time.

Excuse to get TR4 cuz it's BOLTED DOWN? Lol
(Honestly though, I might do it)

ATX at best still because 3 M.2 SSDs + 3 PCIe slots and a VRM strong enough to hold the 16 core at bay. The last requirement pretty much fails all AM4 boards, and only the X399M Taichi stands. X399 might not be compatible with 3rd gen TR though so better hold of the purchase.

What CPU does it carry? The only AM4 CPU that beats the Skylake-X i9-9920X or 7920X by a big enough margin to worth the time imo is the 16 core 3950X, and that thing will launch with the new Threadrippers in November I think so you're waiting anyways.

AM4 could enough but then, ATX is the smallest you'll get here. I;m not certain tho, since X570 chipset gets a max of PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth. Unless you ditch the dual M.2 cache idea, that is.

Do that if you want more speed and can afford to do so (BS), but consider that later.

dont have your hopes this high up. mATX is a dying form factor so finding a good board for that is difficult.

Well then even 3900X should give substantial gains... of course then there's the argument of why cut down stuff in a costly rebuild in the first place

a PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD will handle the cache then, maybe reuse the 950 Pro as OS drive unless you want more capacity. Personally I'd choose the Sabrent Rocket (not 4.0) as the OS drive if you do swap it since boot drives dont really benefit from extra bandwidth, but you could get PCIe 4 SSD for the system I can't stop you.

Could put that $200-300 memory money to other stuff that matters first, I mean.

Sales suggest more see mATX as a middle of nowhere option compared to mITX and ATX. It can't market itself as the "absolute high end" option as EATX either.

Yes considering there's both IPC and frequency lead on the 3900X.

I myself would rather build the NAS myself and use FreeNAS as the OS since I dont like prebuilt stuff I can't fix or maintain easily, but for the features like 10Gb LAN it's worth buying.

Thanks for being the only one replying.

Yeah this suggestion would work, just maybe not for my situation.

I need to use the mac for things like Pro Tools, in which case I guess I actually need a separate interface. The onboard sound card is definitely not enough to handle pro audio...
    Thank you anyway though!

    Hello all!

So here's what I need to do.
I only have one desk here. This single desk has two monitors on it. It's my gaming/streaming setup, with a Windows PC.
Then, I also have a Mac Pro that I will use for music stuff.
I intend on using the same keyboard and mouse, and the same two monitors for both machines.
This part is sorted, since both monitors have more than one input, I just need to switch when using either machine, and install Synergy on both, right?

    BUT

I use an M-Audio M-Track 2X2 connected to the PC via USB, and that's where all my PC audio sources go through to get to my headphones.
So now I need a way to get the Mac to also send audio through the same mixer.
It has two channels, and since only the first one is being used by my microphone, I could use the second channel to bring audio from the Mac in...
But I don't think it'll be great to use the internal mac audio for Pro Tools and such.

Do I need a new interface to do this? And then to prevent having to unplug the headphones from one interface to the other, I could run an output from the one hooked up to the mac, into this one?

    HELP.

I would highly suggest that. I just want to save you time and headaches for in the end making it worse than you were hoping for. Trust me, this is my job, I need to deal with this daily.

I'm still getting cablemod stuff for power though :-)

    So!
I have searched and searched for this and haven't found good suggestions, so here goes.
I want to build a PC for video editing (Full Adobe suite + Resolve).
For more specifics, I need to go full 4K, I want live previews at full res, please.
Now, there's PLENTY of builds for editing around, but I want two other things:

    - It must be QUIET. I don't wanna hear that thing turned on at all.
    - It must be WHITE. I'd like to have it COMPLETELY white if possible (cable mods, the works).

    Budget is around $3.000 USD.

Looking around, I've seen many quiet builds and many white builds, but never both at the same time, for EDITING and not gaming (I already have a gaming PC).

    Thoughts?

Looks good to me. If you are going to be monitoring four HDMI inputs at once, you may want to invest in another monitor or two. Besides that, assuming you looked into the capture card are it is what you want, I say you go for it.

with background music and voice chat applications running on the mac you will have more control over audio whilst in game during a stream so you don't have to alt-tab out of the game to alter settings. also the input source going black could be a few more settings that need configuring inside of OBS or maybe settings on your capture device

For running games at that resolution with those framerates, the 1080 is your best bet. A single 1070 likely can't keep a consistently high framerate at that resolution, and you probably wouldn't want to fiddle with SLI. Also, the prices for the 1080 will definitely drop, but that will depend largely on how the 1080Ti will be priced.
