Haunted XBOX One controllers

Ok so here's the dealio.

My gaming system had three controllers.

Two XBOX One Elite controllers, complete with the Wireless USB dongle;

One MS Sidewinder Force Feedback from 20 years ago.

Then, I just recently bought a Thrustmaster T16000M to use as a second stick in Star Citizen.

When I plugged it in, something weird happened.

In Control Panel, under the devices list, both sticks would show up, but my Razer SWTOR Keyboard also showed up there as a gaming controller for some reason.

Like so:

Ok, so when I clicked the SW, it jumped into the test/calibrate screen and everything worked fine.

Now when I tried that for the T16000M, it opened the SWTOR test screen instead.

Strangely, clicking the SWTOR one itself, brings a different screen:

Now, after some removing and re-adding both controllers, and allowing Windows to reinstall them as I plugged them back in, restarted and whatnot, the problem went away.

Or so I thought.

Now, I've been using both my XBOX wireless controllers for a long time without ANY issues. But today I tried to use them plugged in as opposed to wireless, and I'm running into the same issue!

Both of them show up, like so:

But, only the top one opens the correct test/calibrate screen. The bottom one jumps into that weird SWTOR Keyboard screen with the 32 buttons.

Nevertheless, I tried opening a game on Steam and try to use them anyway. Broforce, for reference.

And... nope. The second controller doesn't get recognized, at all.

And then for one last test, I opened Microsoft's XBOX accessories app, and.... even weirder: BOTH gamepads show up in there and both seem to be working perfectly.

What gives???

I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me.

Computers are strange beings, aren't they
