Keesler reacted to SkilledRebuilds in fx8350 throttle at 38*C?
Some Motherboards....have crap VRM temp thresholds.
VRM and chipset socket temps can throttle you, even if your CPU temp is cool as ice.

The chipset/heatsink - under your CPU cooler is the chipset, between the CPU and GPU - the metal block - the chipset is under that, and can get QUITE hot...
The VRM's are to the left of the CPU - both of these need airflow if they are throttling your CPU down to 1.4Ghz.

I came across this when OC'ing my mates FX8 (Watercooled)
4.7Ghz was fine, 4.8Ghz made his VRM temps go too high, hit the limit, declocked his CPU (only at 52*c loaded up) to 1.4Ghz for a second then back up..
But this was repeated, and gave bad performance in game. (Backed off to 4.7Ghz and his VRM voltage dropped to a level that didnt trigger a reduction.

Honnestly, i have no idea, but a friend of mine told to go for ''slightly'' high price for better quality. He said better get good brand cause some cheaper tv have terrible viewing angle and color quality. Online research will be more precise then me.
So take that with a grain of salt

I wouldn't waste any money on that. Just ride it out until you're ready to upgrade.

The build he linked is 2100 AUD. You don't go from 2100 AUD to 1300 AUD without completely changing the build..

I'd wait til the benchmarks. they might only compare to haswell at best, then at that point who cares. or they might be better than skylake. but wait before you stir something up like this.

Unplug the power (the large cable in top right of the pic).

the card connects to the mobo using the pcie slot - similar to the long empty blue one you can see in the picture. Look for where the two meet, and there will normally be locking switch or mechanism you will need to press. Then simply pull the card away.

    Reverse process and done

Keesler reacted to paddy-stone in What hardware is ideal for underclocking?
Yes, I can see the point of lowering the volts, so you still have enough volts that you don't get a BSOD but can still use the CPU as normal... that is pretty standard anyway for most overclockers. But underclocking is pointless, if your CPU is only drawing say even 20 Watts while you use it, is still damn good.
You'd save a lot more watts just by making the PC sleep during no usage.

Well ye as it can cause FPS drops and stutters. I'm glad I have G-sync now, but it's one of those techs that once you get used to it, you don't notice it anymore, until you play without it

Try getting another stick of ram that's the exact same as your current ram, or buy a 16gb kit.

I think that your having only 8 GB of RAM could be limiting your performance. EA recommend 16 GB of RAM for Battlefield 1.
