Why not just buy a pcie extension thats 4 pin with the 2 pins extra.
Then just not use the 2 extra pins.

I am too. My garage is supposed to be 2 cars but currently its filled with motorcycles and parts. Mainly because I have a huge air compressor, and a motorcyle lift with all kinds of tools.(when my grandpa died, I got the house and tools. Since he was a handyman, he had alot of tools) So my friends end up .making it the repair shop.
My office(at my house) is filled with pc parts from over the years.(dont open the closets, boxes might fall)

Go ultrawide based of your sigs pc specs.
1 1080 cant handle 4k 144hz, hell i dont think a single 1080ti could.

Connect it to your water pump header. So your mobo can control thr speed of the water pump based on temps.
As for the fans, idk.

Perfect. Thanks all of you for providing the logs, it made it much easier to narrow down the issue.
Cloudflare provided me with a traceroute from their network to our server showing that there was some packet loss along the route, but for some reason they did it from their Bangkok (Thailand) DC rather than Chicago, so it didn't show anything relevant. It's quite possible that it was a similar issue for you though, with high packet loss between Cloudflare and LTT or within Cloudflare's network. We'll almost certainly never know for sure though.

Katsunaka got a reaction from Walt in Mining May Void Inno3D GPU Warranties
http://www.pcgamer.com/cryptocurrency-mining-may-void-warranty-on-inno3d-gpus/
The TLDR
is if Inno3D can tell you were mining, your warranty is void.
Its one way to fight back against the high cost of GPUs that work in mining applications.
Meanwhile AMD is making mining specific drivers. Asus is prepping a 19 PCIE slot mobo specific for mining. Which doesnt have a power/reset button on it which would benefits miners.
Im glad someone is doing something to curb mining myself. My 1070 died and I paid damn near 800 bucks for a 1080ti.
Hopefully the mining craze dies off and GPUs can go back down in price and up in stock.

Katsunaka got a reaction from Elevenbgrunt in Gaming rig stats
Much of what you said is irrelevant and budget depending.
A good gaming cpu, for just gaming, is a 7600k.Gives you plenty of power for games now and overclocking headroom later.
Mobo - does it have the features you want? Like wifi, support for the amount of ram you want, and maybe wifi and bluetooth? Yes, thats the best board for you.
And is it the correct board for your cpu?
Example - 7600k can overclock in a z270 board, but not in a h270 board.
16gb of ram is plenty for gaming. Cas latencies and speeds dont make or break gaming.
Gpu - depends on your monitors and how many you have. 1070 is fine for up to 3 1440p screens. Your only gaming on 1, doesnt take alot of gpu to run secondary screens.
Example - friend of mine runs 3 1080p screens off a 970. No issues, can watch a movie and game at the same time.
Storage - M2 drives are still semi expensive, its a splurge rather than a must have. A good 500gb ssd is more than enough for your OS and some games.
Games loading times and speeds arent affected by an SSD too much to make it matter. A good old hard drive is fine for games if your budget is limited.
Power supplies, just make sure you have a good one and it has enough watts for what you are doing with your pc.
Liquid coolers are nice, but many get by fine with them, even on the cpu.
Watercooling your gpu is unnecessary for pure gaming. Most gpus run in the 55-70 area under a gaming load with the air cooler they left the factory with.
For a gaming load, aircoolers they have are fine.
Now this is all dependant on the temps in the room your pc is in. Do you live in the desert and does your pc live there too? No, aircoolers are fine.
You dug way too deep into it and are completely over thinking it. For gaming and with the budget allowing the following pc is more than enough.
7600k
Z270 mobo
16gb of ram
1070 gpu
600w or so psu
500gb ssd for os and some games
2tb hard drive for back ups and games you dont play that often.
Probably get a pc like that for like 1200 or so with good quality made parts. Or less depending on sales, and what specific parts you pick.
Building a pc doesnt have to be hard. By that i mean, picking parts.
The above pc will give you probably 2-3 years before you'll need a new gpu. Then another 2 or 3 after that on the cpu, board, ram and storage. All for 1200 or so now, then a couple hundred later on.
Just my 2 cents.

Katsunaka got a reaction from Sakib in Ultimate Compact Gaming PC 2016
Looking to figure out what lengths Linus used in his build in this case.
Only need 24 pin, 8 pin, and 6/8 GPU pin lengths.
If anyone could help from LMG, it would be greatly appreciated.
Just so I can start pre planning a build in the case mentioned.
@nicklmg Any help?

Katsunaka got a reaction from Alda14 in Safe to store games on SSD?
No, but id probably recommend picking up a 500gb SSD for games. 256 is good for your OS but you'll need more for games.
Just keep using your hard drive until you get a 500gb or better for just games only.
Then use your 1tb hard drive for backing your OS, and any pictures/videos you want to keep.
Only reason im saying a separate ssd for games is because youll run out of space on that 256gb using it for everything.
Gta 5 for example is nearly a 70gb install. Thats almost 25% of your 256gb ssd for 1 game.
A 500gb would allow you to have enough games installed without installing and unistalling one or more to make room.

Katsunaka got a reaction from Alda14 in Safe to store games on SSD?
Personally I keep my os on its own drive so if something fails, for example my games drive dies, its separate from my os and means I dont have to reinstall my os and all my games.
Helps prevent one massive failure.

Id say a blower style card would do better in that case than a card that just blows air everywhere.
But the latter will be ok, just not the best for a small case.

Katsunaka got a reaction from Real_PhillBert in Smoking Barrels - LTT's Unnofficial Gun Club!
Ive got a few guns, just a small 'Murican collection.
Glock 40(aka Glockzilla), Springfield Armory Bi Tone 45 5.25, Beretta 92FS,
Taurus 1911 45, Glock 43(Every day carry pistol), Colt LE6920,
Remington 870 Wingmaster, Keltec P11 and finally a Ruger 10/22.
Thats whats in my safe. I actively shoot target, hunt with or just own because I like it.
I really only target shoot with most of them. Keep them around until i want something new. Then sell one and buy a new one.
