I would say put it back in it's anti static bag, and use foam or Scrunched up newspaper or similar to protect it (if no anti static bag use paper less likely to conduct static electricity.

grimreeper132 got a reaction from Sakkura in 8700k vs 2700x
rendering I believe the 2700X will be better as rendering (especially for images in inventor (don't know about maya haven't used it)) is easily split across all cores. Videos again the 2700X will be better cause again I believe it can be split up well as well. Gaming wise the 8700K is better but the 2700X isn't too far behind, and it's more a GPU than a CPU bottleneck that

depends, calculate the total cost of the PC done through financing and compare it with building one yourself, and buying one straight out. If there is a large difference I suggest you buy just a cheap core2 PC for about £30-£70 which hopefully will be enough to keep you going at work till you can afford the good PC, either that or a dual or quad core LGA 771 xeon which should hopefully be enough for work at least, and if it is means you can have a separate work and home PC, which can be handy

You may as well buy off ebay, as that is much less dodgy in comparison, and you can get really good deals there which are affordable and not scams. Also they won't take weeks to arrive... normally

8700Ks are different in the sense they aren't soldered and the paste used there is shit, as for ryzen solder is a metal compound which has been put between the IHS and CPU although it is not the best conducting metal, it is still very good and about as good as anything you put on it, making it a very risky job for very little pay off. I am sure if you are going for an overclocking record, or have too much disposable income it might make a little sense, but in all others not really. Cause the difference is about 2C max

It's not homework it's me being a nerd in my own time deciding to do something stupidly pointless cause I can. Also that's not arduino code.

Yea, I did that, thanks, and it worked. It took me far too long though to work out that I was getting the digits in reverse order (at least 30 mins, me smurt)

on your board you have you have 2 m.2 slots, and 6 6GB/s SATA ports, when the second m.2 slot is in use only 5 of your SATAs work, which as long as you don't have 6 SATA drives in your case should cause no issues. (just use m.2 slot #1 (your manual will tell you were it is))

If this is for gaming then looking for a reasonable priced 1080ti in budget is not a bad idea, if this is for something like CAD or engineering work or another professional thing like that get 32GB of RAM you will need it in all likelyhood

the extra fans is up to you, the case fans you'll get will be loader in all likelyhood what you will get

Get a CPU cooler as well, AIO recommended, they anit scary to install and give very good performance

I would get a better PSU, like a RM1000x it's a teir 1  power supply and for a build this expensive I would recommend getting the best

grimreeper132 got a reaction from Biggerboot in Gpu upgrade for low budget?
none of these cards would be recommended for a vive, I would say maybe a 1060 6GB (if you can get one, I doubt it) would be the level you want for that, (980, 980ti or 1070 up is what you want for a good VR experience, otherwise you will just feel disappointed)

grimreeper132 got a reaction from Crunchy Dragon in Gpu upgrade for low budget?
I do not have these cards, and I am trying to apply benchmarks from ages by and gone, so I would say from that then that 780 and 780ti will do it medium and high then pretty easily, also as performance goes yea it is 1060=970=780,
you can get a 780 in budget here, and maybe a 780ti which has the performance of about a 1060 3GB and 1060 6GB (respectfully) so I would recommend them, (7th gen is cheaper than 9th due to it's age and people thinking it's shit because the lower number, when in fact in many cases it's about as good)

grimreeper132 got a reaction from unknown104 in Gpu upgrade for low budget?
970 would do 1080p60 on Low settings, same with the 770, 780 and 780ti (maybe medium, and High, depending on the game, but Low I'd imagine so), so you want probably 770 or higher, (I personally would go for 780 or 780 ti cause 970 seams to be out of budget)

UK pricing is different, you want to add about an extra $15 (minimum) to those pricing for here

grimreeper132 got a reaction from DrMacintosh in Best laptop for moviewatching?
then by your own logic of the best CPU you can get you've ruled out not just the ipad but tablets all together
because prett good is much cheaper, gives you about the same preformance if a tablet or better if a laptop, which as you just said you should do

tablet wise yea, the apps support is about the same on both iOS and android, there is very rarely any diffrence really, as for tablet to laptop there is a massive diffrence as it can emmulate android to get all of them (for free, I have done it it's not hard) it can emmulate other systems to get their apps, programmes and games e.g. wii, gamecube etc. and it has it's own, much larger eco system of apps, games etc. which only work on them.

I have no idea what the point was here either as you can jailbreak iOS and get more control and settings etc. as well, so yea I am a bit confused here as well

if you want to look for a good PSU use this list, it's pretty good. I would say you want a tier 3 minimum in your main build. (I have bought lower before 5/6 or off the list, but that's only ever for builds I don't use regularly or aren't mission critical if you know what I mean)

grimreeper132 got a reaction from sof006 in Gaming Industry now claims that legislation against Lootboxes amounts to censorship
the way I see it is lootboxes for cosmetic items like in overwatch, that's fine as you have a choice of looking cool or not, but lootboxes for items that actually affect your play-style and your chances of winning (e.g. and EA game pretty much) I am against as that doesn't really give you the choice you either pay money or you lose

The first one cosmetics I agree it shouldn't be banned (I don't buy them but it does not hurt the game) the second one items yea that should be as that does hurt the game

I think the requirements at the moments, is being a known to them, youtube fucking you over.

When it comes to actual opening up to evevryone else the requirements I have a feeling will be something along the lines of
    1) A significant amount of subscribers (lets say 500,000 min)
    2) Being a consistant uploader (lets say three times a week min)
    3) Being approoved by Luke and Linus (I can't see them allowing just anyone on the site they will have some personal requirements on the type of content creators (certainly at the start it might change at a later date))
    4) There will be some other requirements as well probaby
