THey are not open to new creators. Right now its an invite only. When/If they ever open it up, I am sure they will have requirements posted on the site to apply.

I think the requirements at the moments, is being a known to them, youtube fucking you over.

 

When it comes to actual opening up to evevryone else the requirements I have a feeling will be something along the lines of 

1) A significant amount of subscribers (lets say 500,000 min)
2) Being a consistant uploader (lets say three times a week min)

3) Being approoved by Luke and Linus (I can't see them allowing just anyone on the site they will have some personal requirements on the type of content creators (certainly at the start it might change at a later date))

4) There will be some other requirements as well probaby

The owner of "too many" computers, called

The Lord of all Toasters (1920X 1080ti 32GB)

The Toasted Controller (i5 4670, R9 380, 24GB)

The Semi Portable Toastie machine (i7 3612QM (was an i3) intel HD 4000 16GB)'

Bread and Butter Pudding (i7 7700HQ, 1050ti, 16GB)

Pinoutbutter Sandwhich (raspberry pi 3 B)

The Portable Slice of Bread (N270, HAHAHA, 2GB)

Muffinator (C2D E6600, Geforce 8400, 6GB, 8X2TB HDD)

Toastbuster (WIP, should be cool)

loaf and let dough (A printer that doesn't print black ink)

The Cheese Toastie (C2D (of some sort), GTX 760, 3GB, win XP gaming machine)

The Toaster (C2D, intel HD, 4GB, 2X1TB NAS)

Matter of Loaf and death (some old shitty AMD laptop)

windybread (4X E5470, intel HD, 32GB ECC) (use coming soon, maybe)

Its invite only. And they already have list of people to enroll once platform is stable enough. Which it isn't going to for another 3-12 months.

 

Also, FP isn't something to magically make you famous or get more money. Its to aid and give extra support along with current money-making methods. If you already have channel, ask your viewers if they'd be ready to pay monthly. Otherwise it will only cost you extra. And knowing how LMG audience has took both Vessel and FP, only small part of audience will be hc enough.

I'd much rather pay for a subscription to something like floatplane where we would get content early, or get insider videos or special subscriber content than pay some stupid patron BS.

Probably on the forums and on air since he is the more known as personality. And I wouldn't be surprised if he had final word too. But until then Luke is the one running operations and one to be bombed with questions. Like when and how.

Honestly, I totally expect Floatplane to be sold at a massive profit in a couple months/years... and promptly discontinued, just like Vessel.
