I doubt it will be much more demanding than the Witcher 3. My guess would be a 1070/Vega 56 as the recommended gpu, and something like a gtx 770/R9 280 as the minimum.
I'm also quite certain that the 1080ti should be more than enough for 1440p at 60fps. Not sure about 144fps, though.

EDIT: I looked at the article you mentioned. Firstly, the article is quite outdated, and the author is probably talking out of his ass.

Seems like your FPS is locked to 140, what do you expect?
If the cap is at 140fps then GPU doesn't push its limits and so doesn't utilize to the max, try to turn off Gsync/vsync/fps limit etc and see what happens.

Also R6 isn't demanding game for a GPU, so it's normal to have below 99% usage.

I've got a pair of ancient Zalman surround headphones and I would say they give better directionality than synthetic surround, but as @Lathlaer points out, they don't sound amazing (maybe OK for games, definitely not for movies or music).  So it kind of depends on what you're after and used to.

I've got surround speakers setup on my gaming system, so I'm very accustomed to having and using surround in FPS.  When I switch to stereo headphones (back when I went to LAN parties), I'm suddenly lost.  I am dependent on the surround and going without is a handicap.  If you don't have that dependency yet, you may not want to develop it.

In addition to relatively poor sound quality (OK for games, I suppose), discrete channel surround headphones also requires that your computer has 5.1 outputs that actually work in the games you want to play.  There are plenty of on-board sound chips that advertise surround, but can only deliver it with Windows software support.  If the game you're playing only supports surround with OpenAL, for instance, then the surround may not work in that particular game.  I've only had one motherboard that supported surround in everything and that board had a Creative Labs sound chip.  Discrete sound cards are pretty reliable.

All of that is to say I would only recommend trying this if:
    1. The $200 (or whatever) is easily affordable to you,
    2. It possibly not fully working in every game is OK, and
    3. Noticeably reduced audio fidelity over good stereo headphones is OK (I've not used the Razers personally).

I recommend virtual surround sound over true surround sound headsets. I think the issue with true surround is that it doesn't have crosstalk between left and right, like real speakers would have and that virtual surround sound can simulate.

The issue with stereo is ofc that it is limited to 2 directions, left and right. Games can give additional information through pans, but overall imaging is going to be relatively poor due to lack of HRTFs.

I'd say to just keep using virtual surround sound, as the realism should get better over time.

Since i'm bored and depressed rn, I'll tell you the story. The story of a 15 year old amd fanboy. We'll call him Ray. Ray built his first gaming pc in summer 2015. He was proud of it. It had an i5 4460 and an r9 270. He then switched to a GTX 970 in November 2015. He saw the light. That was Ray's first high end gpu. He joined the green team. BUT WAIT. Ray already had a ltt forums account, from his AMD days. So he decided to be the mother of all irony. He changed his pic to an Nvidia logo. And it stayed like that until now, and it will stay like that forever. Confusing people far and wide.

RADEON_GUY got a reaction from ImperialSteele in Oculus Rift or Vive?
I do have quite a large area (8ft by 8ft) for VR so that isn't a problem. Seeing as the rift also has the (upcoming) motion controllers (which look rudimentary compared to the vive, still it's way cheaper) vive might not be the only option when it comes to room scale vr

So since oculus rift has been recently released in the UK and it's cheaper than the HTC vive, I want to know which one is the overall better headset. The oculus is £200 cheaper than the vive, but it lacks the motion controls. Can someone who has tried both headsets tell me which one is worth my money? thanks!

Lo and behold after disabling shadowplay which is supposed to have a 'negligible performance hit' my score jumped to a graphics score of 12481 and a combined score of 9589 which is higher than my previous best. So yeah. The conclusion? F**k shadowplay.
