Worst PC ever (video idea)

Id be interested in seeing a video of a pc build with known poor quality stuff like bad ram and psu etc and see if they actualy break.

That would be cool. They should have a video idea place where like the top ideas get voted on each like month and then made :)

I bet I can find you a prebuilt that's worse.

Beyond that, the problem with "bad" is that it's so subjective. I might consider a beautifully cable-managed, color-coordinated PC that goes up in flames the first time it's booted because someone paired an unknown OEM $19 Chinese firecracker with an FX 9590 to be terrible. Someone else might consider it to be great because for those few seconds before it was dead, it was dead sexy. Same basic principle applies to prebuilts. No matter how shitty the internals on that $1,400 ASUS funky-case desktop gaming PC are--and they are shitty--someone's going to look at the case, fall in love with it, plunk down the cash then take it home and wonder why they're only getting 35 FPS in CS:GO.

Maybe that's an idea by itself. There's already been a video about finding surprisingly good prebuilts, but what about one that explores the other end: the truly overpriced, underpowered and hilariously awful machines that somehow make their way to sales floors? Hit up the usual suspects (and Walmart!), find the crappiest, biggest ripoff of a desktop PC out there, then take it back to the shop to benchmark it, compare it, whatever, just so long as it ends with fire.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

That would be awesome if they did. Alot of red tape though on what they can and cant do so maybe pre aproved ones go in for voting.

Would be interesting to see.  It would be nice to see if those Logisys, CoolMax, and Athena power supplies are as bad as people say.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

that's probably the deal here. the issues they encounter in scrapyard wars are mostly those you would encounter when using the absolute bottom of the barrel garbage we'll shout and scream at you for when you tell us you're using a FirePower gold™ power suppluy.

Testing bad PSUs will take time. Long time. Those PSUs which aren't really that popular will have higher return rate. But still getting the one that will actually blow or even just fail OC or run GPU will be hard. Same goes for rest of lower end stuff. In general lower end stuff just doesn't have performance the higher or mid tier has. Sure there are more stuff broken. But finding those which would at will is hard.

Power supply reviews that simulate worst possible scenarios, to try to get them to break, and some have even caught fire during testing.

You can SLI ten year old Nvdia cards that use like 40w a piece (look up 8500gt), or so yes you could and still be very safe, and with the molex fans a more worse can scenario would be the better fans because they will draw more power from the psu, but molex is rated for 100+Watts, so it may be about 20+ fans that then you will start to just see them slow down, no fireball will ensue.
