Seriously? To make 100% sure before you fuck over a startup you can't spend an hour or two to double check your results?
And then you SOLD the block at an auction causing them to be stalled as they no longer have their best prototype! What the absolute fuck????

The part where it is alleged LTT auctioned off a prototype water block they promised to return is troubling. That requires an official response.

My brother in Christ, you literally stated that adding the total resolution of two 4K (3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400) displays is equal to the resolution of a single 8K (7680 x 4320 = 33,177,600) display. I might not be the best at math, but if we double the pixel count of 4K, we get 16,588,800, which is exactly half of the 33,177,600 pixels in 8K.

What the hell does "multiplying their horizontal and vertical resolution and only doubling one of it" supposed to mean? If you're only doubling one dimension, then you're certainly not multiplying the other dimension by anything.

Nope, you're not getting away with claiming that your original post was a typo. You clearly stated that 4K + 4K is equal to 8K.

You need to learn to read, too, apparently.  I was very clear in my first response.

Your math was wrong (which you EVENTUALLY realized) and therefore your advice was also very wrong.

Yeah, I think we do.  Do you, tho?  I'm not so sure you do.

Cus you're still arguing things that make no damned sense:

    Okay, so here....

    1) I'm not sure what refresh rate has to do with screen resolution, but, you seem to think it's important.  Nobody but you is talking about refresh rates here.

    2) "If you have two screens" you add up ONE side of their resolution.  Not Both.  You're still getting this wrong.

    3) 4K is a name, not a resolution.  You don't add 4K and 4K to get anything useful.  2160 * 3840 is what you'd be adding.  And you'd only add one number, not both.

    4) Yes, we can all ready a linear thread, and realize how time works.

Anything else you want to try to be wrong about?

Keeping your math accurate so as to not confuse the people you're trying to help, do you know what that is?

You gave a completely erroneous calculation for the resolution demanded by the Quest 1 as a basis for picking a GPU to use with it. The error was so large that it resulted in the idea that you need a GPU capable of 2800x3200@75Hz to drive it when what the user actually needs is a GPU capable of 2800x1600@75Hz. That's a huge jump and, contrary to being helpful, would result in anyone using your math as guidance purchasing a GPU that is far more powerful (and, more importantly, far more expensive) than they require.

I have a Ryzen 5 2600 at stock speed and voltages with an ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard, and G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)  F4-3600C19D-16GVRB. The stock timings for this RAM set are 19-20-20-40. Without fiddling with any voltages or timings, I can only run this set at a maximum of 2800 MHz. The XMP profile for 3600 MHz does not work right. How should I go about adjusting voltages and timing so I can get to at least 3200?

Chrysolite reacted to TheRandomness in AMD once again violating power specifications? (AMD RX-480)
The 295x2 disagrees. So does the 480 apparently. Plus, it's only 15W in total (ish)
150W* > PCIe bus + PCIe power cables
*could* I can draw a total of 400ish W with my 290 when it's overclocked to hell with an 8 pin and a 6 pin. 400~ > 375. 15W difference, no harm done. In fact, I'm considering pushing the wattage higher to see how far I can go. No damage done to anything so far, the only thing stopping me being thermals (This'll be my overclock for gaming btw)
    That they need a 650-750W PSU c:

BTW: I know this is kindof a 'my card does it so it's fine' post, but my point is that is the spec is broken by like 15W, is it going to set my house on fire?

If we want to talk about when Android SURPASSED iPhones, it was about the time they released Ice Cream Sandwich. (they have 80% market share. You just can't argue that) If you want to talk about when they got BETTER than iPhones, that is purely subjective....and the answer is...they have always been better.

An Indian guy called about a "compooter failure due to an email hack"... Here's how it went down:

*after like a 4 minute explaination about how an "email hack" works (he tried to be all scary)
Him: Sir, are you by your computer?
    Me: Uhhh yea...
Him: Ok, I need you to concentrate on your keyboard...
    Me: Uhhh yea...
    Him: can you do that?
    Me: ...
    ...
    ...
    ...
Him: OK (sounds exahsperated) so can you find the "C-T-R-L" button? Control button on the left side of your keyboard?
    Me: Uhhh yea...
Him: Ok, what is the key next to it?
    Me: Oh! oh my keyboard?
Him: Yes. On the far left of your keyboard.
Me: Oh, ok. I'm by my keyboard
Him: Ok, so have you found the "C-T-R-L" button on the FAR LEFT SIDE?
    Me: Uhhh yea...
Him: Ok, can you tell me what key is next to it?
Me: Uhhh yea the "seeeee-teeeee-elllll-rrrrr button, right?
Him: yes, the ctrl button, control button.
Me: OH, yea, I think I've found it
Him: ok, can you tell me what key is next to it?
    Me: uhhh an arrow key?
Him: What? No, no, sir on the LEFT side.
    Me: uhhhhh... ... ...
Him: (after like 1 minute pause of me muttering about dang computer-ma-gadgets). Sir can you tell me what type of computer you have? Do you ahve a laptop or desktop?
    Me: WhutTtttttt?
Him: Do you ahve a laptop or desktop?
    Me: What is the difference?
Him: *aggrivated* never mind. Have you found the LEFT ctrl, control, button yet?
    Me: YES Now I have!
Him: Ok, what is the key next to it?
    Me: uhhh arrow key?
Him: no, no the RIGHT side.
Me: oh. right, sorry. Ummm an alt button?
Him: Yes, yes! Now what key is next to that?
(Let me pause right here: what they're trying to get done is to have you press windows+s button to go into admin mode and go to google to download a client to control your computer)
Me: Oh ummmm the "Peeeeee-Teeee-" wait, "Peeee-Arrrrr-Teee(sir please...)eeee... ...ESSssssssssssssssssss-Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" button. (PrtScr)
Him: No, no there SHOULD BE A WINDOWS KEY WITH FOUR SQUARES.
Me: OH OH I've found it! It says "Num Lock", right?
    Him: no .... 0.0
*At this point my mom comes in and signals that I should end the call* (I was going to try to launch a virtual box and throw a trojan on his PC like in the videos... oh well)*

ME: Sorry sir, but you don't know who you're talking to. I have about 5 teammembers which COULD go on non-stop to find your servers and shut your buisness of scamming people out. In fact, I know a whitehat HACKER which just did that the other. You call and I'll get it done. You even THINK about screwing around with ANYONE by my name (he didn't know my name, but I'm sure it scared him) and I can get you arrested if you're in the USA. If you're not, I can just permanently DDOS your servers until you quit your stupid game.

Him: No, no, the CTRL KEY... Wait sir- I'm with the MICROSOFT
    *Shuts off phone*

best way to scare and annoy them. They rarely call back... This guy I'm 90% sure was either british or texan using an indian accent... Just from his exasperated voice... Anyways as a general rule: NEVER give out information about your computer no matter HOW liable it seems. Have them come to your house using a trustable website/company; OR just call the computer's company/go into the stores.

Ok  so GPU and CPU blocks have been installed, just sorting out the tubing now. Going to go pump -> rad -> rad -> cpu -> gpu -> res, since everywhere ive read, that has an actual experiment in this regard shows there to be no temp difference in loop order. The temps should actually be better since i can use 7cm less tubing and less bends
