Cool, but knowing how well developers have optimized and polished games recently UE5 makes me shudder a little bit. I think I would prefer last-gen looking games if they ran smoothly and without as much janky stuff.

I agree. It's so annoying when some developers push the graphics so far beyond what gamers can do and then hide behind "next-gen" cover. In my personal opinion if you are a developer you should scale your games to the most popular midrange card that is on the market. Like for example for all games that are going to come out in the next year or so 3060 should be able to get 60 fps comfortably in 1080p (maxed or near maxed). If you go beyond that you are punishing majority of the player base with a shit experience, just because they were too poor.

You don't need conductive Loctite, you should only use a tiny bit of Loctite to secure a bolt and it wouldn't impact the resistance of the connection any significant amount. Should work the same with pins tbh, just push it in so it makes the connection before it dries out and it won't lose the connection.

To the extent that I care, every time we're promised realism, it always a mile short of where were in 2001 with film.

Basically film has had 2001, Squaresoft's "The Spirits Within" (which was 100% CG) and then 2009's Avatar which was a hybrid of "realistic" and actual real characters.

Unreal Engine has always hit a middle point between "this is playable" and "this is pretty" and unfortunately the gap between "playable" and "pretty" is massive. You can see this in existing UE games like Fortnite and Dead By Daylight, but also the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The prettier something looks, doesn't necessarily make for a better playing game, and in many cases the developer will not actually go through the required effort to make something "pretty" when it's competitive multiplayer because nobody actually plays it at maximum quality because it costs them "frames" in the game.

Q1: It will work just fine. RAM compatibility is mostly CPU dependent since the memory controller is on the CPU.

Q2: U12S chromax black has the kit included already.
Q3: It's a fine PSU, just very budget. I'd get this one instead https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4xGnTW/phanteks-amp-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ph-p650g_us01

Are you asking for suggestions on the build or is this just questions for a hypothetical build?

    1. Easiest way is to go to the mobo manufacturers site and usually under "specifications" there will be a long list of the boards details. At the top or so it'll show its memory support and slightly under that there will be a qvl list for the board
    https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690-A-WIFI-DDR4/support#mem
Seen here for the msi board in your link. Just because it's not on the qvl, it'll still more likely then not work though. Iirc storage has the same thing but I can't recall anyone have issues with it on this forum.

    2. Pcpartpicker says that in pretty much any build, it's just a heads up. But by now pretty much all cpu coolers should ship with one considering its been a whole generation on the lga 1700 socket.

    3. I wouldn't get that psu for a variety of reasons. I'd just stick to the standard x50 gold psus since they're more likely to be good psus. For example  the phanteks Amp is 69.99 for a 650 watt psu that's fully Modular. The extra 50 watts is negligent if the psu isn't that good in the first place

    4. Sometimes you can just look at them, sometimes you go and find reviews for the boards in question. Msi has very good vrms for the price of their boards so I'd be confident in it handling a 13600k

    6. It'll usually be listed on the manufacturers website, so go there if clearance is of importance. It's more so warning you if the cpu cooler is going to be to close to the stick of ram, and some coolers do overhang the memory slots. But either you could just get lpx ram or move the fan on the cpu cooler ever so slightly up

You're good, 650W is enough for a 150W CPU + 200W GPU, and RAM speed difference between 3000 and 3200 is less than 7%

ZetZet got a reaction from Brandi93 in 1080p on 4K tv for more fps?
I play 1440p120hz on my 65 inch LG CX, because I only have a 10m HDMI 2.0 cable and it's plenty sharp. Going to 4K definitely doesn't seem worth the penalty. But with 1080p I can see the jaggies and the UI in some games scales pretty poor, but that depends on the TV.
