Any CPU Intense games run really bad

I have a AMD R5 4600G and it should perform about the same as a 3600 or better but it stutters and drops fps alot. The usage is not max. I factory reset my pc to get rid of any programs , and Im not sure why it is happening. The score on CPU benchmarks is 79% when it should be over 86%. If anyone can help that would be great. If i can fix it then i am thinking of upgrading to a 5600

Well, I wouldn't call those games CPU intensive, but okay.

This issue is not necessarily caused by the CPU, GPU could be the issue as well.

Have you tried updating all the drivers? Mainly GPU and chipset drivers.

What kind of SSD you got? If the drop is that big it could be a storage issue too.

I doubt it, I'm ashamed to admit that I played fortnite when it was first launched. And at the time I had a PC with 7200 RPM 3.5" HDD, a Pentium G4560 and 1050 Ti, and it ran just fine without any dips.

12GB RAM?

4+8GB or 3x4GB?

That's probably the issue, especially if 4+8 that means that if you need more than 8GB you run on single channel for the rest.

Maybe a typo, because he replied 16GB on my post.

If it is game specific, I know for a fact that apex is quite demanding, much more than fortnite. Is there an option to choose DX 12 instead of DX 11?

This thread seems to fixed the issue by changing to DX 12.

A proper dual channel 16GB kit of ram will probably help a lot. Ryzen likes 3600 mhz.
