Noyu reacted to bcredeur97 in Looking for a good locking rack
Whats a good quality, locking rack with ~10-14U of space, good airflow, and will keep people From like... unplugging things on the switches or just otherwise doing stupid things.
Need one for some switches and stuff in a business environment... not sure if i'm allowed to give any more details than that. But yeah just looking for something really nice, doesn't need to be sound proof or anything that, but there does need to be good space for cables coming out of the switches; in between them and the door.

Noyu got a reaction from genexis_x in i5-7500 vs Ryzen 2400G
oh wow. checked benchmarks after I read this and it seems your right. I'll take it into consideration but I'll still probably go with the 2400G since the budget allows.
I also do some MKV processing so I might be able to use 8T.
thanks for the tip tho!

If the 2200G is only a bit more, I would get that.
Otherwise they are the same

Noyu got a reaction from kirashi in Wireless mechanical? G613?
1. Romer-G
hi! I've owned a Romer-G keyboard (G910) more than a year ago. And I must say, they do feel different vs. regular mechanical switches.
IMO, they feel like rubber-domes, but work like mechanical. But that's just me.
My personal opinion is that they feel mushy kinda like in-between reds and browns.
I'm now on Gateron Browns and they feel so much better when typing.
but still, YMMV.
I also noticed that switches got "softer" over use. By that I meant it was getting too easy to actuate (like it would sometimes trigger with me just resting a finger
2. Romer-G replacement caps
Logitech DOES SELL replacement caps, but only for the G910 Orion Spark. But I would assume this will/should be compatible with any Romer-G board.
They sold this in response to most people not liking the stock polygonic (idk what to call it) gamery keycaps on the G910 haha.
3. Wireless Performance
If you're fine with Romer-G, then definitely the G613 is the best wireless keyboard for you.
It boasts a reeallllyyy looong battery life, albeit not being rechargeable. But hey, AAs are pretty cheap.
I own the partner mouse (G603) that runs on the same LIGHTSPEED™ protocol and so far I've been VERY happy with it's wireless performance.
I haven't had issues with interference (unlike my previous wireless mice).
If you don't like Romer-Gs, another keyboard you may want to consider is the Corsair K63 Wireless (Cherry switches, TKL layout, blue LEDs).
Compatible replacement keycaps should be easy to find seeing as it's sporting Cherry switches.
DYOR with regards to key layout though as it can sometimes pose a problem when buying keycap sets.
---------------------------------------------
BTW, I'm using an ANNE Pro, which is a Bluetooth Mechanical Keyboard with RGB. Switches can be: Gateron Reds, Browns, and Blues.
Sadly the layout is only 60%, so if you need a full-layout for your workflow, definitely stay away.
It's super cheap too. Gaterons are Cherry clones so any cherry compatible keycap should be compatible.
Again, DYOR with regards to key layout.

The naming is now just speculation. Nobody knows how they will name it. But my tip is that the names will be something like Turbo Lazer 4000GTR

Noyu reacted to Max_Settings in Dear Toyota, Why Did You Make This Car a Camry?
Why do you people drive on the wrong side of the car? I get why you did back in the olden days. In case you didn’t know this, the reason Europeans drive on the right side of the road dates back to the days of horses. Since most people are right handed riding on the right hand side of the road allowed you to slash swords with someone you were fighting who was riding in the opposite direction. But now that doesn’t apply any more.

Noyu reacted to SupaKomputa in 2x8GB vs 1x16GB worth
How many slots do you have? if 2 slots only, go for the 16gb stick.
This will futureproof your setup at least 5 more years, when all games need 16gb to run, you can just add another 16gb for a 32gb rig.
If you say 32gb is too much, they say the same thing 5 years ago when 8gb is too much.
But there's a caviat, single 16gb sticks is relatively new in the market, it won't be compatible with some motherboard.
Make sure you have a return policy if the sticks aren't compatible with your current setup.
The sweetspot right now is 16gb period. Why you want to be stuck with 4gb stick inside your motherboard.
In 1-2 years to come you will want 16gb, why not do it now.
50 chrome tabs already costing me 7-8gb, plus if you set your APU to 4gb vram, nomore space for anything else.

Noyu reacted to SupaKomputa in 2x8GB vs 1x16GB worth
Well suit yourself.
I have a bunch of old core 2 duos / quads with 2 memory slots from 10 years ago.
The machines still running w8 fine but only has 2x1gb sticks, 2gb is huge back then.

Noyu reacted to iRileyx in Upgrading my PC! Could use help.
If you want the easiest(and cheapest) upgrade, just swap out that 7100 for a 7600 or even 7700.
With the current price of GPU's, and assuming you're only playing 1080p, the small difference going from a 1050ti to a 1060 isn't worth the cost at the moment.
-
Noyu got a reaction from hconverse02 in Upgrading my PC! Could use help.
you should probably post other system specs such as Motherboard, PSU, and if you have an SSD / HDD.
normally the first recommended upgrade would be to switch to an SSD. but if you already have it, then the CPU and the GPU are next up.
The GPU upgrade is tricky. The 1060 is one of the miner's favorite cheap cards so you'll either find it out of stock or double-triple the MSRP.
I suggest you stick with the 1050Ti (for now) and go with a CPU upgrade (or better yet, platform upgrade) first.

Dual Channel mostly only improves performance when you're with integrated graphics so in your case it'd be beneficial enough to make sense going 2x8gb.
