If your classes require more out of a machine for some CAD stuff, there will probably be a workstation or two on campus.

How is the reliability on Zenbooks? I was interested in picking up that exact laptop but I've heard ASUS has a lot of issues and I'm looking for something that would last me at leats 4 years.

i would recommend to look out for deals in your local shops, even though you can buy many things on the internet, it still cant compete with the stores, when they go on sale. But maybe look into buying something last gen, as those get a significant pricedrops once the new generation rolls out. You might be in luck there.

OnePlus X? Don't know how much it is where you live, however I can recommend it as I have a OnePlus 2, and I bought my brother a OnePlus X.

Wouldn't it be better to get a second generations i5 for about $100 and then get something like a 1050?

because it only has 2 gigs of vram it will have trouble in a lot of the newer games though you should be able to play at low settings

It wont be able to play the newest games on low either. Not if you want 60fps.

I very reluctantly agree. Console prices have come down and the price of RAM and storage has gone up. It's to the point where building a PC that can reliably beat a PS4 at a lower price involves lots of careful planning and targeted buys, and quite a bit of luck.

no such thing as console killer unless you go used or find the best deals, you can pick up a ps4 bundle for 245 usd or a ps4 bundle for 300 usd, remember they have vr support and ps remote play support. if you do want a cheap gpu get a rx480, wait for a sale on sale it can go low as 143 usd.

Samsung has discontinued sales of the Note 7 entirely, and are offering $100 credit towards another Samsung phone.
 
If you have one, return it. It's gotten to the point where they're banned off of all flights in America, and plenty of other places too.
