While I don't have an iPhone 7 and won't be getting one (My upgrade cadence always falls in line with the 'S' models), of my favorite features of my iPhone 6s is Force Touch for precise cursor control.

 

I mention this as one of Linus' gripes was the cursor control on the 7, and I'm fairly sure it would work the same way as the 6s.

 

If you press down hard on the keyboard, the letters disappear, and then you can use the area as a touchpad.  I've found this works great for me when I need to reposition the cursor.  Normally to correct the autocorrect...

Wait now. You said you wanted something significant in return if they removed the headphone jack, and you are satisfied since it has waterproofing now... which Android phones had for years now as well as the jack. I'm not sure I follow the logic.

His phone of 2015 was the 6S, and he is always comparing other phones to it so no, he doesn't hate them. It's just that other phones (6, 7 and SE) are nothing spectacular.

@LinusTech I never really got why the dongle for mini jack is such an annoyance to carry around... if you intend to use it, it's because you also carry headphones... leave the dongle attached to the headphones and pretend they are a part of each other, and you'll be carrying the same amount of stuff around as before. 

 

And why do you need to be able to use the home button with a glove? You can't do anything on the phone while wearing  gloves anyway, unless they are of the touch screen friendly kind, but then they'll work on the home button too

 

And yes, WTF apple? No T9 dialling? T9 dialling has been a thing for over a decade now...

Late response, but you can move the cursor without having to leave the keyboard. By using Touch Force on the keyboard, you can control the pointer to place it where you want. Apple just implemented it in a previous version (worked at least since IOS 9) and didn't bother announcing it.
