As indicated below, the specs and 3dmark 11 score

The GeForce GTX 960 scores P9960 and X3321 points in 3DMark 11, 6636 points in 3DMark Fire Strike, 3438 points in 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme as well as 1087 points in 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra, according to PCEva.com.cn. If the numbers are correct, then the GeForce GTX 960 will offer performance – at least in 3DMark benchmarks – comparable to that of the GeForce GTX 680 and the GeForce GTX 770.

This should put it between the 770-780 range of performance while keeping at a comparable price with the 280/285 (~210$US market price).

Tell me what you think about the formatting of the topic, and post what you're thoughts are below.

No problem at all.  Patience is a virtue that tends to be seriously lacking in the tech world anymore with information flooding our brains every second that we are online, and it's one that I also have a hard time with at times.  I'd expect nothing less from a community with a question like this though, they can be insanely difficult to diagnose, especially if you have no practical experience with something like this.

Anyone who has the Logitech G930 will know this pain.

The connectors that Linus always rants about and their strength is REALLY IMPORTANT in a headset.  Logitech, unfortunately was eating crisps during that design meeting and made them out of terrible plastic, and they snap and snap, under light to normal use.

I've RMA'ed three, the forth broke, the same spot, as all the others, so I just gave up and bought another headset.

Other then that, not a terrible wireless headset.

Man this has been an interesting read... thanks for this lol.

Incidentally, having had experiences with both the FX4 lineup and the FX8 lineup, I can comfortably say that unless you're using a GPU that is stronger than a 7950 then that little quad core is really all you need for gaming.  Beyond that an FX6 should do you nicely for most single card configs (single GPU cards, not dual).  I own the FX-8350 in my current rig and I'm not entirely disappointed with it.  It's certainly not the powerhouse that a similarly priced Intel CPU is, but my circumstances kept me from justifying spending what was then extra money for the Intel motherboard AND CPU when I could just upgrade one part at a time for this platform.  The chip overclocks well (I think mine is only being held back because of my 2133 MHz memory overclock... stupid memory bandwidth being gimped on AM3+... stupid...) and all of my GPU scores for my 280X (again circumstance.  Not a fanboy one way or another, just too good a deal at the time to pass up on) are within acceptable margin of error when compared to similar scores run on i5 and i7-based systems.

Just my two cents on the matter... as you were :-) *grabs popcorn*

Interesting approach to this take on 4K gaming.  I like that this makes something like 4K seem that much more attainable to a budding PC enthusiast who wants ALL of the pixels for pooning nubs on Summoner's Rift.  Too many people I feel get caught up in the hype of top tier AAA games and forget that there are tons of other great titles out there that are either free to play or are just really well optimized regardless of screen resolution and are just as fun to play as a bigger title that requires ALL of the GPUs.

Oh yeah there's definitely no need to go SUPER pricey with the fans.  Most of the appeal with the Noctua fans is their ability to provide stupidly quiet cooling, but there's a huge premium you pay for that.  I personally tend to recommend Cougar fans for people who want a best of both worlds scenario: you're getting a premium fan that takes minimum effort to keep quiet, they're durable, they're reliable, and they don't cost ALL of the money.  Sure there's the matter of the orange vibration dampers, but to be fair if these fans are giving you excessive vibrations then chances are they're taking a dump on you anyway so you can just remove them with a small flat-head screwdriver or other similar tool, they just come off.
As for Sickle Flows... my PERSONAL experience with them is that they are just too damn loud for me to justify the lowered price.  I have an Anxiety disorder, and the bearing noise those fans always made for me were enough to drive me to drink.  They aren't BAD performers, I just don't tend to use them if I can at all help it.

    2. It's not the FPS that people overclock for, it's the performance you get out of it in general such as rendering and such.

Plus sometimes that 20 bucks is a step too far for some, and would make the difference between being able to pay for the shipping of the build or having to wait to get the parts entirely.

Yeah... it's the precedent that this sets for the company in general that is causing concern; if they are doing this on their low-end products, imagine if they started doing this with their high end motherboards... or even their GPU's.  IF there is no specified revision number associated with the changes then that's just messed up entirely.  Changes that fundamental I feel deserve a revision change to the product to let customers know what it is they're getting themselves into.  I still hold they that don't HAVE to say anything about the intent to MAKE the change, but once the change has been MADE, they really should change the revision number of the product.  That sort of peace of mind would go a long way with satisfying their customer base.

While it may be true that they reserve the right to not OPENLY announce these changes, and yes they may be listed on the product splash page, the fact that it's done as quietly as it is gives cause for concern.  Plus it stipulates PRIOR concern, which I believe refers to giving people a "heads-up" that the change is occurring.  Of course I could be wrong on that one, but that's how I interpret that bit of legal schtick.  Not personally a fan of Gigabyte lately anyway, but this isn't surprising.  Those are some pretty meaningfully important changes, too...

I'd just spring for the 980 right now to be honest.  Even at 4K this card is doing really well with most titles so long as you are judicious with your visual settings, plus if you keep waiting for the next greatest thing then you'll always be waiting since I guarantee you that within two months of the release of the 980Ti the rumor mill will once again be abuzz with hushed whispers of a dark power rising in the east to once more threaten to butthert the ePeen of everyone who "waited" to buy the next greatest thing x-D
