I dont know about input lag on PS4 but on xbox one i pluged mouse and keyboard and it had terrible lag.But there is thing i think its called XIM APEX adapter which helps with that and it fixes your input lag.

PS4's are fairly cheap, to my knowledge KB/M input is pretty refined
Not a bad idea for a replacement seeing that they go for like <300$
 
I've only ever played one game on my PS4 with KB/M and it was fine

that's difficult. The budget limits you to RX 580 and GTX 1060 6gb, but they are only slightly faster than your R9 290. I'd rather suggest replacing thermal paste on the old Radeon card.
 
If you look for used stuff then maybe you can find a GTX 980ti? Not sure.

I had an r9 290 , that won't help it. it's a hot and loud card. lol

I actually changed my r9 290 to a 1060 6gb. it is slightly faster but a heck of a lot more cool and quiet.

if ti were to actually pull that much power you'd hear a pop, see smoke, kill your card, motherboard and cpu at the same time. 

No it won't. Unless you are lucky, or you have an identical system to install Windows 7 there, but you'll obvious you'll fall with the same problem, has you can't.
While I am not going to deny that there is a way, and probably a fun week-end project as this is a nice challenge, if you want your system up and running as soon as possible you have 2 choices:
 
 -> Burn the ISO to disk
 -> Use that to boot to install Windows 7.

upgrade to Windows 10 which is free (free upgrade offers ends July 29, 2016)
 
To get Windows 10:
Go to another computer, and go here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10
Click on "Download Tool now" button, to download it and once done: insert your USB flash drive, and run the downloaded tool
 
When you'll run it, you'll have a wizard guiding you to the process. Select that you want to install/upgrade Windows 10 for another computer (which you are), and the wizard will download Windows 10 ISO, prepare your USB flash drive, extract the ISO, and make it bootable all for you. Once done, safely eject the USB flash drive from that system, and go to your computer that you want Windows on, and insert your USB flash drive, and boot from it. You should be able to install Windows 10 just fine.

Okay, will upgrade to windows 10.
I wanted windows 7, because it is a computer for my mom. And her old computer had windows vista. So i though it would be an easy upgrade for her. 
Now i will have to explain everything again to her...

well.. i'm sure the test is valid, although i'd prefer to see benchmarks done at higher resolutions, in games with more eyecandy (those settings in GTA V you should otherwise stay away from? ), and other very gpu-bound scenarios.
 
thing is that games wont be getting any lighter on the GPU the next 5-6 years, and for all as much as it may chug a bit in today's titles, maybe the next wave of AAA titles will make use of that gpu power by just tossing in eyecandy until it hertz.
 
it'd be a waste for OP to buy a 970 today, and come even close to expecting the card to keep up 6 years from now.
 
 
besides, telling someone to get a slower GPU because otherwise they'll have a cpu bottleneck is plain stupid, because congrats, you just made their system even slower.

If I were you, i'd be running really far away from this girl, she seems like trouble, IMHO.

So, exstacy, cocain, acids and LSD aren't hardcore drugs? All 4 is extremely dangerous for you for many reasons. Saying they're not is ignorant and fucking idiotic. First of all, you will have damage done to your body, even only after trying it once. Will that be something you'd notice after trying it once? probably not, but still damage is done, weather that will heal with time or not I am not sure. Its addictive, EXTREMELY addictive. If you are addicted and can't get your hands on it through "normal means" things can escalate rather quickly. Hell, when I was under 18 and couldn't go to the store for my tobacco addiction I'd turn bat shit crazy. I'd stand outside a store and ask pretty much anyone if I didn't find anyone that could buy for me. There normally always was someone I knew though that would buy it for me, If I never found anyone though I'm not sure what lengths I could have gone to. I do however had a friend who asked a police officer, he wasn't on duty but I'm sure you can imagine it caused some trouble.
 
Now I might be the wrong person here because I am very much against drugs, even pot or whatever else you'd call it, because first of all, atleast here in Norway its still illegal. And whichever way you look at it, its addictive and it gives you a high unlike tobacco or alcohol can. And even if you don't get addicted to the pot itself, you can get addicted to the high is gives it. Now, pot isn't dangerous for you, sure its more dangerous than water... but people say alcohol and tobacco is more dangerous, which I can understand, however looking at the big picture I'd say its wrong, because its an entry level drug and after a while of using it you might start to think about trying other stuff, and many people stop thinking about it and actually do it. No matter how you flip the coin, drugs, in any shape or form is dangerous for you, your wallet and ultimately your family and your own well being.
 
I myself don't use anything but legal stuff meaning tobacco and alcohol. The tobacco I use is a Swedish form of chewing tobacco that's called snus directly translated its called Snuff. And yes, it is bad for you, having that said cigarettes are alot worse, but that's not something I wish to get into. Point is, I drink alcohol and I use tobacco but for me that's where it ends. Drugs are illegal and dangerous, whatever you do with it. That's just me, perhaps you'd wanna call me ignorant for that, and feel free, I have my opinion, you have yours. Now if my girlfriend used any kind of drugs, it would be over and I love my girlfriend, but I do not wish to see her fall down into an addiction, I'm addicted to tobacco and I will do anything to keep her away from that and I do everything to keep her intake of alcohol to a minimum. But with any kinds of drugs it would be over as soon as I heard and confirmed it. I don't wanna fight to keep my girlfriend out of that kind of shit, its a fight I'm simply not willing to face. There are no good sides, she'd end up getting addicted, spending her money on it, her addiction would probably end up her trying to manipulate me into helping her getting her hands on it, or pay for it. I chose my girlfriend because I like her and that she is someone I would like to spend my time with, she not some kind of free whore I found someplace and only keep around for sex, I enjoy her company and eventually, who knows a family, house and everything that is portrayed as the meaning of life. But drugs would ruin that, whatever drugs it is, starting with money issues, fights, child services if we got a kid and so much more. Eventually it might would have escalated from pot into something worse, where I start to see the effects on her, her addiction would get worse, money problems worsen. Just no. There is nothing positive about drugs, not alcohol or tobacco either, but there's a big line between the two in my opinion. Would I date a drug user or a drug addict, not a chance in hell.

Most of the job on the case is done. The upper part is left only. After i finish that, i will use black paint and do some stripers over all of the case. Something better for borderlands rec. I did not clean the paint that is left on black parts, so, it's fresh picture! Also, the black u channel rubber will go around the window. As soon as i'm able to find it.

I changed the rubber on side panel. I tryed to find in stores the U channel, but it is not avaliable at all.. So i improvised. Also, there is borderlands logo there, it just a sketck but will be done perfectly later one. Also i painted some parts from white to black, and ATM i'm painting these 2 fans. Soon big update. 

Hello all! Long time LTT fan, new to the forum. I wanted to share my build, as it's really been a labor of love for the past month. I trash picked it from a local computer store in December, and it's come a long way since then.

It started life in 21 years ago 1995 with a 486dx2 running at a mind blistering 66mhz, with a massive 4mb ram, and 1mb video memory. The 3.5 floppy disk could hold a maximum data capacity of 1.44MB. As of a few days ago, it now has a an Intel i7 6700k running at 4.3ghz, 16GB's of 3000mhz ddr4 ram, and 8GB's video memory. The 3.5 floppy drive can read up to 512GB of data from a single diskette. This was not a plug & play build. Massive amounts of cutting, fabrication, welding, grinding, a filing were required. It was awesome.

Also, at tip for being a new streamer: stream at 720p30. When you aren't popular enough you can only stream in "source", so no high, medium, low options. This means if you want everyone's chances to watch you to be as high as possible, you'll want to lower your stream quality (i.e. so people with bad internet can still watch you).

I found this, wouldn't recommend his way though, cutting up a mobo.

Anyways as promised a little update:

So lets grab a dremel and start cutting away. (sorry for no in progress shot)


 
so that's the initial cut where I made room for the mobo and io shield, also yes those screw's are going to be the mobo stand off's.
After this I had to do a test fit with the mobo to see if I've messed up.


 
And it fits like a charm, so lets get going on the top panel.

 
that's a nice beginning however there's one more problem.

 
the entire shroud needs to be exposed without cutting in to it.
so let's hope I've got a steady hand and the right technique.

 
Seems to be going alright.
so how I managed to do this is put a screwdriver in between the panel and mesh to keep them separated and cut away little bits at a time:

not bad if I may say so myself. In the end there were only 2 mis cuts and you can barely see them, so mission accomplished.
so now lets get back to the bottom panel because we where not done yet.
we need to drill some more holes in order to cool this machine.

luckily I don't need to use a hand drill because that would be murder to my arm.

now I'm almost done because I decided to change it up a little bit, so some more drilling and cutting was necessary.

If you are wondering about those wire's, I'll need them as a ground since I don't use a metal case on the inside.
 
now last but not least the front-panel, I really wanted to keep the touch sensing so I had to make something up for that.
So I bought some touch sensors to mount to the front ribbon cable.

 
So i got those but it doesn't work like that sadly enough. so lets get creative.
I needed to tap into the capacitive sensor so I could wire it to the ribbon cable, I had 2 options, number one solder a wire to this little pin:

 
But that thing is so tiny you would almost need a magnifying-glass in order to solder on it.
so option 2 it was, actually quite simple, drill a hole, scrape away some solder mask on the front, feed a wire through and solder it on there:


 
then all I needed to do is mount it to front ribbon cable:

 
but it still doesn't work, I need to power the thing and make it work with thew mobo.
so grab a servo wire mount it to the sensor and remember what color is what.

 
then grab a relaid and wire it up to the sensor.



 
Now the last part about the front panel, lighting up the xbox logo:



 
seems like a perfect fit to me.
 
now here is the finished result, I just glued the led that's why the tape:

 
Power to the touch sensor comes from the on-board usb 2 header, because those things have standby power. and I definitely need that.
 
 
Lets leave it at that for now, was already more than planned  
anyways next update is going to be wire harness and mobo/cpu.

This is another one of those cases where people only see something from their point of view.   For special case situations this thing is great.  
 
Hell I have a use for it.  My cats like to lay on top of my computers.   One of them has the power and reset switch on top of the case.   So sometimes they will step on the buttons.  I can unplug the and use the on board power buttons but this is very inconvenient.  So a remove switch like this is a great solution.  I can also see it as being useful for a system that someone wants out of the way such as in a closet.   

i'll tell you why its that expensive:

I have a Texas Instruments Ti-Nspire CAS CX, also very expensive, but it can play Gameboy Games!!!

It's a lot better than the 960... The 380 is already around 15% better in some games so the 380X is around 20-25% better.

I am aware that you were referencing those events, but I think it's safer for no civilians to carry guns in public than for all of them to carry guns in public. And it seems to me that the majority of the population living here thinks the same way. Although admittedly the sales of pepper spray have been skyrocketing here after the stuff in cologne happened from what I've read.

Is it really that bad in places? Never visited the states but I can't think of a single place I've been in Europe where I think "I need a gun."
