CPU prices never go down, maybe AMD's AM3+ socket will drop in price with the new chips but Intel? No.

If you look at the last processors from intel. They are all still their launch price or around their launch price, until you get down to 1156. So if your question is, will they drop, then yes. Any time within the next year, then no.

MSRP will NOT change just because of a new product launch.  It might change, but not because of the new product.  Now actual retail price, almost always changes.

They will become REALLY CHEAP in fall 2025.  the I5s in 2025 will drop and the 4690k will be cheap.

Store prices might go down if they need to clear storage. But you'll see that after 6 months to year. Because they know people are looking to get good deals with older CPU models right after new product release.

It's very rare for cpus to drop in price and it is almost unheard of for Intel cpus to drop.

Once this current gen (4th) is going to be replaced by the 6th gen, models will slowely dissapear. They won't drop in price.
