WTF is "decompressed and "compression" on the graph for dirt showdown? I could understand if it was a well compressing and uncompressing files but somehow... Im just confused.

Like my post about i7 vs pentium threads, I sure you are being sarcastic, but in likeliness hood neither of our statements are ever going to be a problem. Anyone who as enough money to spend $800 on gpus and afford more sub $100 cpu. And anyone with enough money considering a i7 is not really going to want a sub $100 cpu...

I wish you guys had run a wider variety of games, still an excellent test though and thank you for running it.  Very much looking forward to the video where you try and replicate results using a higher end CPU, chopped down to a lower end CPU.

Oh I give them this ~15fps benefits in gamescenarios over the i5. Saved money with the pentium It was still playable so do I need an i5? Not yet.

I'm impressed by the 4690k there more than the pentium when it came to the non gaming workloads, as most of the time it was about half as slow as the 5960x, which has double the cores and quadruple the threads as the i5, so it gave a very good showing if you ask me.

I really enjoyed this video. It's just such a shame that game devs are shunning Dual core CPUs from their games' supported CPUs list by pushing all the workload to Core 3 which dual cores don't have. Looking at you Far Cry 4. If only Intel had blessed the G3258 with Hyperthreading.

 

 

Oh and BTW Dollar Shave Club should setup shop in France. Then I can see how good they are for myself
