Does bottleneck

Hi, I'm going to buy a second 1060 6gb and an i7 4790k to upgrade my PC 
without having to change also ram and motherboard.

So i ask you if this configuration would bottleneck.

 

Ram: ddr3 1600mhz 2x 4gb

CPU: i7 4790k 

GPU: 2x 1060 6gb

Motherboard: Msi Z97 Gaming 5

SSD: 840 EVO 250gb

HDD: SATA 7.2K RPM 1000GB

I'll play with a monitor FHD 144hz

 

if needed, I can also upgrade the ram from 8 to 16 GB

The GTX 1060 does not support SLI, as it does not have an SLI finger to connect another GPU over a bridge. There are workarounds to this, all it they're not advisable. 

 

If you could do it, no you wouldn't have any sort of bottleneck

Can you recommend a processor with the same socket that does not bottleneck with a 1070ti or a 1080?

The 4790k is the best CPU you can put in a Z97 motherboard. In order to get a better CPY, you'd need to change your motherboard AND ram since newer CPU's also use DDR4 RAM.

Just overclock it to 4.5GHz+ and it won't bottleneck, I plan on pairing my 2600k with either one of these.

I have a 4790k and a GTX1080 and do not experience bottlenecks.

If you run i7 4790k with a 1070ti at 1440p you wont ever bottleneck anything but the gpu

^^^ The 4790K is fine, heck even the i7 2600K can hold it's own with a decent overclock. You'll be fine with a 1080, especially if you run at 1440p or something. Even 2011 Xeons can keep up with a 1080 Ti in most games (X5675 at 4.5GHz).

the 4790k (especialy if OC'ed) wont bottleneck any current GPU, even a 2080ti, to any significant level.... well unless u run a 2080ti at 1080p in CSGO

The i7 4790K with a 1070 Ti is already enough for the most part, granted you understand not all games will run at the perfect stable 144fps since we've a couple really CPU intensive out there.

 

But all games that makes sense having 144fps will probably run at it, like first person shooters, competitive games and so on.

I am with i7 7700 and in 1080p I am being bottlenecked. I use gtx 1080
The most I experience it is in CPU heavy games

Okay no, the i7 4790K well overclocked will be suitable to a GTX 1080 ~ RTX 2070 sure however past that and you do get noticeable bottlenecking due to crippled single thread performance in comparison to the newest chips.

Really? My R7 2700X keeps up quite well with a 1080 in 1080p. Not as good as my 5GHz 8600K, it keeps it pinned at 144fps vs the 120 or so on my 4.2GHz 2700X, but still great.

Vega 56 competes with a 1070, the 1070 Ti matches a stock 1080 when overclocked. If it's a reasonable price though, I'd get the Vega 56. Should handle 1080p 144Hz fine, and with freesync your experience will be much smoother. I have a G-Sync monitor with my Nvidia GPUs and it's great.

my i5 7600k overclocked to 5ghz barely bottlenecked my 1080 only in really cpu intensive games, you should be fine with the i7 4790k.

if you can get a vega 56 and like overclocking and can get it for a decent price I would say try get that, but a 1070ti will always give you better fps and you can overclock it to basically a stock 1080
