With that said, I do think Sony Japan needs to tackle this sort of thing domestically, because it looks bad to have the American office dictating what a Japanese game is allowed to include.  If you're going to establish a baseline across the globe, the foreign divisions should really be supplements that point out harder-to-grasp cultural differences.

But if family friendly Nintendo isn't worried? The Switch is region free too, you wouldn't even have to import a Japanese console.

 

And how many westerners play text heavy Japanese games anyway? And of those how many will be playing these types of games anyway? It seems epically cautious.

NPCs have no ultimate goal because they cant accomplish anything. They have to be parasitic like this example demonstrates.

 

Ask the NPCs behind this kind of BS or at some protest what they hope to accomplish and you get a word salad of virtue signaling keyword gibberish.

 

Push them on it and they will become programming will make them become enraged and kick you while making cuckface, hit you with a bike lock or chant things on a loop.

 

They have no goal other than what theyve been programmed with.

Plus, Sony is a Japanese corporation... 

Because they want the extremists to have a say in it to ensure it's not "sexist" so they can stay hip with the vocal minority while their larger market abandons them. The japanese market and forums are even talking about moving away from Sony and switching to the switch or just PC outright due to the new censorship and horrible policies. If Sony sticks to this (along with their "you will lose your purchases and data if you change your username) they're going to go bankrupt and fail. Their gaming division is basically the only thing that keeps them afloat.

I was thinking more like if the camera detects an underage girl is gonna be in the frame, a Sony camera automatically overlays a mosaic censor on her part of the image...
