Just for a bit of fun, what's your total rad space? I have a 1080mm rad I need to plumb into my loop eventually, this will take my rad space to 1860mm.

If you want silence and good temps, 9 fans is not optimal.

 

A single rad would probably give you just as good temps.

more fans at a  low rpm is the way to go for silence unless you want to go rad only which is kinda dumb since as long as you get good fans they are silent at low rpm. most of the noise from good fans are aucostics caused by the air at high rpms

45mil 140 and 280 and a 80mil 280 in one rig. 360 and 280 in the other. My cases aren’t really made for it so it gets difficult.

I ditched my AIO and sold it to a friend, everything runs on air now. I might switch back to liquid in the future, but for now I have no plans to. RAM, an SSD, and a better GPU(in that order) are my upgrade plans at this point.

fewer, larger diameter fans, for even lower rpm

Yes as you can see in my build log, the radiators are mounted under the desk at the back. The fans are in a push config and run @650 rpm.

I win:

 

MO-420 and a 21"x21" (533 x 533mm) water-air heat exchanger.   So about 23 140mm rads, equivalent.  I could have gone 36" x 36" (42 140mm rads) but then it wouldn't fit a box fan and that's overkill anyways.

 

I removed the MO-420 after a year or two though and it didn't affect my temperature at all with 4 systems on the loop.

nice like all the custom rad mounts and builds.   i got dual 480, and a 420, and 240.

 

i wanted to use all 4 but i only got 2 how i wanted before i gave up at the time.  

 

if in the future,  i found a place where buying a Morad would be cheaper than multi radding again.  so maybe it'd be time to mount out doors at that point
