I think I got the best scrapyard PC.

Dyepoy

Well I bought this system for around 30 usd here in my country (Philippines)

This PC was untested when I bought it. Its filled with dust and it really looks like it was not used in a long time.  but when I try to boot it up the first time. It went smooth. :)

Here are the specs:

Amd fx 6300

Asus m597a motherboard

8gigs of gskill 1600mhz ram

Gtx 970 strix

And a corsair cx750.

No storage drive.

I still can't believe that I got this bargain. Hahaha. I think I can win the next scrapyard wars. Lol

Take close look at that mobo and that psu, I think if that pc was thrown was for that psu or mobo. (usually high usage of that 6300 with bad mobos or just that psu enough time can make anyone throw a poor 970 pc...)

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.

Why not take the 970 out before tossing it?

If I were you I would stress-test that gpu on another computer. (first i would do a full manteniance, like thermal paste and remove dust)

It seems that is an old pc that one guy slapped a 970 and that psu (it seems newer both than the pc), like oh I need a new gpu but I dont have enough powah! lets put a 750w there

it's probably stolen

sold for 30 so the seller can buy some crack

I don't think so. The seller doesn't know anything about PC. She's calling the system unit "CPU". And the real owner is her grandma. My guess is that the user of this PC went overseas and leave everything behind. As you can see, the system literally collects dust.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do. I'll clean it up and plug it on my main rig. I think I will sell this at the right price since I don't have anything to do with it. I'll just swap the PSU and replace it with a CX430.

I know more tech-savvy people who call the PC a "CPU" than a "system unit" lmao

So what's the plan?? You going to clean it up and use it or are you going to salvage it for parts?

That's a freakin bargain. The best I had was a friend(who knew nothing about PC's) got a system in along with a house clearout. I bought it for £100, sight unseen because all he said was "I think it has an i5, and 8gb ram".

Turns out it was an i7 3820, 16Gb of ram, and a 4gb GTX680. All in a bright red NZXT Phantom case, and it came with a 24-inch monitor and a keyboard.

I'm never going to get a deal like that again...
