[Help Needed] I Am Thinking About Upgradeing My GPU.

Hello Everyone I am gonna be upgradeing my GPU in a matter Of weeks and i need help on what i should buy.

I am gonna be Surround gaming(sometimes), and streaming ( Twitch.TV .

My PC specs

 

Case:Fractel Design Define R4 Black with Window

Cpu: I7-3770k @ 4.3 Ghz

MOBO: Gigsbytle Z77-DS3H ( Dosent support SLI)

Current Gpu:EVGA 670

Buget Around $500

 

If you Think i should go SLI Then Suggest me a mobo and include it into the buget.

( AMD, And NVIDA)

GTX 780. The R9 290 is more than $500 and frankly is not worth it. For the non-reference, which you will want because it doesn't run at 95C at full load, it costs $579 for a Windforce 3 from Gigabyte.

At the current price point, unless you are mining, go with what @TheSLSAMG is suggesting. The GTX 780 is a better value. That feels weird saying that.

It does, but the non-ref R9 290 is $579 for a WF3 from Gigabyte, well above the $429 it would have costed if Bitcoin mining weren't a thing.

More the Litecoin miners, but yeah. The Windforce card wasn't even cooling that great compared to the bit of kit Sapphire pumped out. At the 500usd range, the GTX 780 is the way to go.

780 definitely atm would of said R9 290 aftermarket but the miners have made them more expensive than they should be

My suggestion is: Overclock your 670 via afterburner, to squeeze the most possible performance out of it. It will perform similar to a 680(except you got your hands on a very bad chip), which is basically a gtx 770 and offers very nice performance. Wait for Maxwell then, possible moderate to heavy price drops incoming on last generation cards. But if you really can't wait, like most people said, a gtx 780 would do.
