Nvidia: No next gen graphics cards for a long time

I'm betting we will get new NVIDIA GPUs before October, and if you purchase certain models, you'll get a free copy of Battlefield V. You heard it here first.

On one hand, its pretty cool working for a place that gets notification and training on this kind of stuff. On the other hand, sometimes it sucks working for a place that gets notification and training for this kind of stuff.

Measuring at the PCIe input to the GPU is a bit more accurate.

 

 

Vega 64 will go over 250W, very easily without changing anything. AMD put some big power limiters on Vega 56 to try and put a gap between the products.

It also gets up to 75 watts from the slot itself.

A long time isnt very specific. May been months, years, decades, centuries.

 

Plus im still on the hype train. Toms hardware is quite a trustworthy source, and have confirmed the existence of such cards releasing. Id that a reliable source with a 95% accuracy rating than a ceo saying "a long time"

 

Though, then sites like tweaktown come and ruin it all by stating ridiculous lies, and then everyone takes those as fact.

With these tiny incremental advancements from one ''generation'' to the the next. I don't see a reason to buy a new GPU before 2022 at the very earliest and i'm still using a 390. They can have my money when they innovate.

Turing from what we can tell is going to be a huge jump from the current Pascal architecture, and from what we can tell, it will probably be in August or September that we will be able to purchase these cards.

Let's see how long I can live with a 550Ti. Or more like... which will die first? My patience or the card?

The leaps in performance are actually pretty significant. If you wait until 2022, your 390 will be struggling indeed, unless you’re playing at a sub FHD resolution.
