Cargo shorts in paintball?

IsaacThePooper

I've played before quiet a bit and have my own gear but I often just wear saggy sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

I do sacrifice mobility but when I get hit even from 5 feet away it doesn't really hurt, but it is getting warmer.

So should I just wear cargo shorts and a t-shirt to have better mobility and coolness (temperature)?

Well actually having played in shorts, getting shot is a bitch and hurts way more in both paintball and air soft way more, and have even been fully autoed 3 feet away wall wearing only a thin t-shirt and it hurting for hours but if you think your pretty resist to pain go for it I guess.

Man up and wear nothing but a Speedo. /s

I usually wear (haven't played airsoft or paintball in a few years, but I've tried simmunition a few times last year) 5.11 Tactical or Marine attire. Wearing light clothing is preferred for indoor airsoft as most only allow -300fps (~110m/s) semi-autos and you may not feel someone pegging you with .16g BB's.

The last time I played paintball is during ROTC in college and I got hit in the temple and surprisingly it does hurt a little bit but it’s fun.

It's even better when the bitter frost starts to sting your skin.

I would suggest you buy some cargo pants. You'll get the protection of the legs, you'll lose the gross sweaty sweatpants, and if you buy some made with high quality material, they are pretty light and not that warm.

Last time I went paintballing, I wore cargo pants and a sweater - though not ideal in full summer weather.

Yes Cargo pants. Fill all the little pockets with junk for a makeshift plate carrier armor solution :D

I don't think armour is necessary - with Cargo pants, they should be thick enough that you likely won't even feel anything but point blank shots from a paintball gun. And even the point blank shots likely won't hurt.

That would just weigh you down unnecessarily.

Though you could definitely use the pockets to carry useful gear, like spare paintballs - maybe a paint bomb if legal in the game you're playing, etc.

lol too late, I went to paintball just now with my cargo shorts and got shot in the knee, it did hurt but not as much as getting hit in the back of the head (which I wear a beanie).

Well... yeah. Getting hit in the head is probably one of the more painful places xD

But anyway, in the future, if you want extra protection, get some cargo pants or carpenters pants.

Why not just buy some long pants that are a lightweight material? All the paintball places i've been to here in Australia they've made you wear coveralls if you didn't have long pants. Probably a safety thing.
