Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

You should put side pipes or stacks, anything else is just ricer. :P

I was just going to go open headers. no rice for me! :D

No, just no. Its time to stop.

That's not a performance car, people need to stop this ricer bullshit on accords. It doesn't matter if it sounds like a sports car when the driver next to you turns over and sees its just a 4dr accord.

You not only ruin your daily driver by putting a loud-ass exhaust on it making it ungodly loud inside the car while driving, but it just makes the car look and sound like a complete joke.

I can't even begin to describe the number of fart can exhausts on all the cholo accords and acuras in my area. It got to the point that back when I still had my nsx if I encountered one in the wilderness I made especially sure to show them what a real performance car is. And don't try to say anything like "well, if you can't afford a performance car then..." or anything of the like. If you have money for a drop, new wheels, and an exhaust kit then you have money to start saving for a real performance car, instead of turning your daily driver into a fukin ricer wannabe.

the exhaust on my Miata is loud under full throttle but pretty quiet under normal driving.  was the same thing with my my Mustang, and my Evo before that... my 350Z and Civic had relatively quiet exhausts all the time.  in fact my 350Z exhaust was quieter at low rpm's than stock...

just cause you put an exhaust on a car doesn't make it ricer bullshit.  you can put one on an accord thats not stupid loud and sounds good at WOT.  my daily 328i would get an exhaust if they weren't stupidly expensive... and I bet its slower than a V6 accord...

no need to be an asshole about the whole thing

when I have time I might try take off one of the rear mufflers to see how it sounds. the accord exhaust is complicated. cat, res, mid muffler, dual rear mufflers.

That's because it sounds like an old school Merc or thereabouts. And I have no idea why, but it does.

hey. there's a difference between a good exhaust and a typical ricer fart can setup. Big difference actually.

In actual gains to performance and horsepower, maybe. It still makes 0 sense imo, and needs to stop.

That'd be like someone going out and slapping a Corsair H100i on a damn i3. Its just stupid. You don't need to rice out your accord, put that money aside and start saving up for a car you can have some fun in instead.

yeah. It's not the best in the video but it sounds way better than I thought it would.

Sounds like a smooth but angry V6. An exhaust that changes the tone to something a bit deeper would probably sound better but it isn't bad. Would need to hear it in person...

meh an accord coupe isn't that bad. I went from a corolla to a miata. The corolla was terrible.

The guy has a manual V6 accord coupe. It's a good little car. It's not stupid fast, it's not good at cornering. But it's an honest car that happens to be a bit faster than most cars out there.

You can overclock an i3 if you increase the base clock, also you can overvolt them too to get a bit further. So as funny as it is, you could theoretically get to a point where you need decent cooling on them :P

You can sure, hell I have plenty of fun in my 3.2tl, but spending hundreds and even thousands on exhaust kits, suspension mods, and ruining a daily driver car so you can have fun is just stupid. Put that money aside and soon enough you'll have enough to get a car or bike that you can really have some fun in.

If you haven't driven a purpose built performance car, then you might not realize the difference in just pure enjoyment you can get from driving. There's a reason even a staunch supporter of automatic transmissions in a daily driver like myself caves the second you mention anything about sports cars.

I don't know anyone who wouldn't "want" one, but it makes far more sense to turn that cooler over for a better component to actually improve performance.

I can set the fans to idle and not make noise, that'd be the only reason though.

he wasn't gonna spend hundreds to thousands on mods... the poor guy just wanted an exhaust, and at that he was thinking of going the cheap route and just doing a muffler delete.. he's not buying everything  that exists for his accord lol

Wasn't commenting on him directly, was talking about people in general who destroy their daily drivers trying to rice them out for no other reason than to rice them out.

If that was op's intention, then mayhaps he too should instead put that money aside and start saving for something to have real fun in. It's never too early to start saving.

crap mods ruin cars.  quality thought out mods improve cars, yes, even daily drivers...  I mean its not like its an S10....   (sorry @vinyldash303, I couldn't resist the jab, haha)

I can see 60 in the 4's, I'm thinking 1/4 more mid 12 to low 13 range, depending on tires.  it takes a lot of power to get into the 11's, its not nearly as easy as the internet makes it look

I used to believe that but an inline 6 and some v6s can sound decent.  V12 Twin turbo diesel engines sound fantastic.

My Nissan 4.5L V8 is a very healthy sounding engine, I often have the urge to put straight pipes on it.  I do like the way my 3.0L v6 Twin Turbo sounds at full song.

I can't stand V10s and i5s.  Only things worse than i4s.  Boxer 4s are pretty terrible sounding too.
