WHY A KA24 SWAP!>!?!?!?! If you are going to swap the motor at least put in a good engine!!! lol

I dont understand all the KA hate. It's not that bad of an engine. They can make decent power. It can handle quite a bit of boost without having to be rebuilt. And It's quite torqu-ey (when compared to SR's, at least). and parts are widely available for it in the US. I see so much hate when people don't swap SR20's into their S13/14's. Why spend all that money on a different engine when you can get ok power with the one you already have? Turbo's KA's arent bad at all. 

 

But I agree, if he was swapping from a completely different engine, a CA or SR (or even RB20?)could have been a better alternative. Although the KA is a truck engine.. and it's in a truck, so it works :P

The thing i dont like about the ka24 is that while they are fine in stock form, the second you start messing with the engine, all kind of things will go wrong. By the time you put in the money and effort to make reliable power with a ka24, you might as well have just gone and bought a sr20. You have a good point about it being a truck motor though. Because the motor is newer than the car and likely from a similar style vehicle, you can get it emissions legal in california.

the series of videos these guys made for this car is amazing. There is some pretty awesome craftsmanship it the videos too.

I never liked that car. Too boxy and too much fake wood, not to mention shoddy looking performance. Second gen was even worse, with problematic squeaky belts, which drives my whole neighborhood insane.

But I loved how he actually found one of the RARE 10-year version that DIDN'T HAVE THE CHRYSLER V6 PLATFORM. It had the Mitsubishi one! THAT IS RARE.
